LOL Z - I admit is was funny but that was horrible. C'mon man!!!!!!!

You guys missed my point.

My point is we don't have the same expectations for Romo 9 years ago when he was a UDFA that we do now that he has a 100m contract. Same thing for this season, even though most of us didn't have high expectations for them in September, things changed once they started 6-1. I see @big dog cowboy and others going around the forum the last few days telling people they have no right to be upset about the current state of the team b/c nobody expected them to be here in the first hand.

How can you not feel optimistic about an 8-4 record at this point in the season? What did you predict when we had our nostradamus preseason "predict the regular season record" thread? IIRC I predicted 8 wins at best. I'm ecstatic and can't see anything less than 10-6. This team is finally putting something together. It finally has an identity. I'm really curious to know what your preseason prediction was.

i believe it was 8-8.

i don't get it......so once they get their 9th win, i should then be completely satisfied with the season no matter how the last few games play out?

Not at all. Please don't take my question as criticism in any way. I was just curious about what you thought they might do this year. It's funny how things vary. You and I both had them pegged at 8-8 before the season and now that they have 8 wins 12 weeks in we are pretty much on opposite ends of the spectrum (glass half empty/full). I suspect the Boys will fall somewhere in between from here on out. 10-6 seems likely but I hope we run the table!

I love this. Everyone thought we would win 5 or 6 games and here we are at 8-4 and I'm reading comments like this. Priceless.

Right. They exceed they win total and people need to go. So we had the talent and coaching of a 5 win team and they overachieved and got ATLEAST 8 wins and everyone must go lol. Boy....

You don't have to be completely satisfied you should definitely be hoping for more.

But you can't be too pissy, or cranky, or cry about everything when you never figured they'd have more than 8 wins anyway. If they win 10 or 11 games and you're pissing and moaning about everything then you just look foolish. You didn't expect anything better than .500 so anything above that is a bonus for you.

It's because, as usual, we have a small selection of fans that it's far more important for them to be right then for Dallas to play better or do better than what they said Dallas would do. It's far more important for them to be able to thump their chests and say "See I called it" on an internet forum then for the Cowboys to be better than what they'd expected.

Same here. I thought this video was timely as we go into our first December game tomorrow with an air of "they just punted Thanksgiving Day" along with us. Philly came focused. We came focused on dinner..lol. I see a completely different story unfolding in Philly. But, for now, let's beat a team that we are supposed to beat in a convincing fashion. Prepare the psyche for the stretch run.

I'm really digging Shango's latest piece of work and thought I would share.

They theme is a perfect depiction of how I feel heading into yet another December stretch. In previous years, The confidence has definitely shaken during the home stretch. However, I feel very strongly this year that we finish with a winning record for the month of December.

That guy tries really hard to be funny and get attention. It might have been slightly funny the first time but now that he is in the thousands of attempts it's just a sad ploy for attention.

Thats' the most annoying thing to me from fans. The ones who want to say "I told you so....".

Even with the defense allowing plenty of yards last year, they finished 8-8. I thought they could make the play-offs because of the change in offensive play-calling. I think they still will, but I don't think all is well in Valley Ranch.

Hmmmmm.. Do tell? I happen to think all is better than ever in VR. Guys are not being coddled. They are being made to earn their paychecks and extensions. Jerry is being smarter about how extensions are structured (with the exception of Romo's contract). Our coaching staff is nails. The talent is young and gelling. What's not to like?

My 2 cents. That Thanksgiving butt whipping was EXACTLY what this team needed to get its head out of the clouds. Very timely.

We essentially lucked into Frederik, because Jerry pulled the trigger last minute saying they don't want Floyd. This by-pass was because of Marinelli and the defensive coaching staff, while Garrett and Tom were clueless. The fact that the disconnect between the scouting department headed by Stephen Jones and guys like Marinelli for at least a month or so is absurd. And look at who they actually targeted in that draft, outside of Frederik, which they didn't really target. It's not something to look highly at.

I've heard that it was Callahan that really liked Frederik and he was rifting with Garrett last year. He is the guy that brought in the zone-blocking schemes and he wanted to bounce in the off-season and his contract expires this year. The scheme is his and he is really the guy behind the running game. When Garrett came, it was power blocking schemes and Houck. Though they have Pollack, I'm not sure if he can continue with the line. Zach Martin was 4th in line to be drafted. Jerry saying they had 3 defensive players targetted that were all taken.

And Romo is about to be at the end of his career, if not for health, which still raises concerns age. And we haven't seen any real movement in the direction of the team, Dallas just NOW putting all it's eggs in one basket.

So Callahan and Marinelli's contract ends this year. I don't think Marinelli will go, but remember, Lovie Smith is at Tampa and he may want his buddy back and there is nothing Jerry can do to stop it. And I don't see any way in hell Callahan returning, after what happened last year and him being want to be interviewed by the Ravens and the Browns as OC. Because of what he has done with the line at Dallas, I just don't see other teams not offering him anything.
