WE all went through the articles when Shanle was traded one said it was a 4th others said it was a sevent. Turns out it was a conditional pick.
What if pastabelly was right with the 4th but forgot to mention it was conditional meaning he had to hit certain incentives or be resigned to get the 4th?

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS SIGN LB SCOTT SHANLE TO A FOUR-YEAR CONTRACT
For Immediate Release: Feb. 9, 2007
The New Orleans Saints have signed LB Scott Shanle to a four-year contract, it was announced by the club today. Shanle, who ranked among the club’s top defenders in 2006 with 117 tackles and four sacks, was slated to become an Unrestricted Free Agent on March 2.
“Making sure Scott returned to our team was one of our priorities entering the offseason,” said Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis. “He was a major part of our improvement on defense last season and a player who is an integral part of the group we want to build around. This is a really positive way to get 2007 started.”
Acquired in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 23 in exchange for a conditional draft pick, Shanle played in every contest and started 15 games. He led the Saints with 77 solo stops, and his 117 total tackles only trailed LB Scott Fujita. Shanle’s four sacks led the linebacker corps and ranked fourth on the team, and he added a forced fumble and deflected a pair of passes.
