How is this guy not a first ballot Hall of Famer? The NFL really needs to look at this process and try to fix it. Im sorry but Derrick Thomas and Ralf Wilson getting in over Shannon Sharpe is a complete joke!

And for the record I live in Denver and despise the Broncos. :D

I wouldn't go that far. Derrick Thomas is very deserving of his induction.

You can say that Sharpe belongs in there, and he does but because he isn't in there doesn't mean that Thomas is any less deserving.

According to what the Mediots have been saying all week, the voters looked at Shannon Sharpe as a Wide Receiver and not a Tight End, which they felt was unfair. They further stated that since he is being viewed as a Wide Receiver, he would not be a First Ballot HOF.

Then did they look at Woodson as a cb or safety? His numbers looks good if he's a cb but as a safety they look great.

I thought Shannon would get in.

That makes it even worse because they are acknowledging that he revolutionized the TE position. He was the first of a generation of hybrid TEs and the guy has 3 SB rings. He deserved to be a first ballot Hall Of Famer in my opinion.

Tight Ends in the Hall

Mike Ditka - enshrined in 11th year of eligibility
John Mackey - enshrined in 15th year of eligibility
Jackie Smith - enshrined in 11th year of eligibility
Kellen Winslow - enshrined in 3rd year of eligibility
Ozzie Newsome- enshrined in 4th year of eligibility

for some reason, voters havent given enough respect to the position over the years.

He will get in.....no worries.

I cannot argue with this years class.

BTW, I think they should redo the whole HOF balloting.
