Guess it doesn't hurt to look, but he's only got 2 sacks this year. Maybe he's an upgrade over Selvie on passing downs but I don't see him having any sort of an impact.

If he's good enough for Rod M, then he's good for me...

Unless JCrawford is going on IR, don't have a roster spot for him. Doubt he does. He will just be inactive until he gets healthy.

Phillips has been waived, which makes him available to any of the league’s 31 other teams if they choose to make a claim.

Thanks bro...................for a $1 million base salary this year, I would put in a claim so fast.

Does he have to clear waivers or is he an automatic free agent?

Normally, a vested veteran is not subject to waivers; however, once the trade deadline has passed, they are subject to waivers. If claimed his contract goes to the new team.

If nobody puts in a waiver claim, then he is a free agent and his previous contract has no meaning to the new team. They could pay him the veterans minimum.

I Could go either way on this one. Phillips would be an ok rotational guy, but I think his numbers are a bit misleading. Despite double digit sacks he really doesn't have the reputation of a great pass rusher. Not sure he improves this defense much.

Would be an improvement over Jack Crawford (who now has an owie). :D

Not great but he's always been a good pass rusher.

Wouldn't mind I mean don't think he would mind playing with a contender, fresh ok 3rd downs henplayed better in 4-3 last year.

Yes could add a nice pass rush...

He was a very well thought of addition/teammate here in Denver. He plays on emotion and has not lost a lot of speed or strength. Very intuitive veteran. Smart defensive player smelling out screens, draws, puts himself in position to make plays. Don't hurt to look.

Because Whiz is tanking for a top pick to get a QB....................you don't sit a healthy Jake Locker and play a 6th round rookie if you are not tanking and you also don't release a guy that has had almost 20 sacks the last 2 seasons before this one if you are not tanking.

The Titans have 2 wins on the season and Whiz plans to keep it that way............my brother is a big Titans fan and he says the mood around Nashville is "suck for the duck"

I really like Mettenberger so far.
