Find it very interesting a top 5 pick would even consider playing in the East West Shrine Game. What are the odds that the fact that it’s being played at the Cowboys stadium is playing a big role in that decision? Deion and Shedeur trying to audition for Uncle Jerry

I dont see it, but a Pennix/Love scenario could be in play. One where he is drafted to sit behind and older starter for 2 or 3 years. I dont think thats a bad way to develop an NFL QB, its working well for GB. However I just dont see this organization having that kind of patience with a top 5 pick.

What is the general consensus amongst scouts about Shedeur?

I have watched a lot of his college games at Colorado the past two years, I am a casual fan:

PRO's
- doesnt turn ball over
- willing to stand in the pocket and take a hit
- pass first processor
- seems to be a solid situational decision maker
- seems poised in clutch moments

CON's
- poor pocket awareness
- slow feet, but athletic

I know nothing about his IQ, arm strength, height, ability to read modern defenses or his throwing mechanics. I have noticed that he doesnt turn ball over even though he throws it a lot. I have seen him stand in the pocket and take some huge hits and still placed the ball very well downfield. He sucks at pocket awareness, imo...but its not some career ending trait.

Shedeur just doesnt seem to make critical mistakes very often. Will it translate at the NFL level?

Shedeur has a good arm with elite accuracy, but it is not what most would consider a big arm.

As someone who has seen every snap, he has taken the last few seasons at Colorado I will say he has to get better at making quick decisions, I have never seen someone take so many negative yards in my life. He doesn't get sacked for 5 yards, he runs around and will either make a huge play down the field or get sacked 15 to 20 yards behind the LOS. That won't go over well in the NFL.

I am surprised that you are suggesting he has bad habits when scrambling. Mainly because a QB that refuses to throw the ball out of bounds and instead takes a sack for loss or runs out of bounds for a loss is my most hated sports play...in all of sports. It jumps off the screen at me every time I see it happen. Why? Because that situation happens a lot in football and making the right decision in that situation should be as basic as being able to throw a football for a QB...yet you see almost every game you watch.

I know the first year at Colorado they had a terrible o-line and Shedeur was getting hurried, knocked down and sacked a lot...so I have seen Shedeur take big losses...but it just has never registered with me that it was because of Shedeurs bad decision making or wanting play HERO-ball with his legs.

My issue with Shedeur is that I see a lot of posts that say something along the lines of "Dont draft this kid" without explaining why. He seems to be a producer that is safe with the ball. What characteristics does he have that are detrimental to his NFL career? You did provide one, that he is slow to process, and that is something that I am not able to confirm or deny. What other traits does he have that are concerning to NFL clubs?

His Oline has been terrible.....and FYI, his OC is a former NFL head coach.
There is something off with his ability to detect or escape pressure in the pocket, imo.

I dont know what it is...but its there. Its like he doesnt feel pressure sometimes or he has a serious blind spot somewhere.

I don't love Shedeur as a prospect, but QB is such a valuable position, and such a political position, that you almost have to draft a guy early if you think he has any chance at all. If you are the Giants, and you draft say Abdul Carter and roll Tommy DeVito out there for another season, you're basically waving the white flag on 2025 before your first game even kicks off.

I had not really put two and two together...

We havent seen Shedeur with a decent to good o-line yet.

Better to wave the white flag then waste a first rd pick on a reach
Trade down and get more picks to fill the many holes that your team has

He is not slow to process. That's coded language. His biggest issue is he refuses to believe that some plays are just dead. He believes there is always a play to make, thus him holding on to the ball to long and taking unnecessary sacks. He has stated he always thinks one of his receivers will eventuality get open.

I really hope the Giants draft him. He likes to eat sacks and has a mediocre arm so I could see us owning him for a decade like Dak has with the Giants over the last 10 games or so.

I can see someone having a mental block like that, where the QB cant throw the ball out of bounds because his brain is waiting for the WR to get open.

The NFL isnt too keen on QB's taking massive losses on a frequent basis. Hopefully Shedeur knows he cant think like that in the NFL.

Russell Wilson is a QB that is willing to scramble and buy time for something to open up downfield, but he will never take a big loss of yardage by getting sacked 10+ yards behind the line of scrimmage. He will throw the ball out of bounds or at someones feet before taking a loss. My opinion is that this is probably the better approach to have.

Im not betting against Shedeur. He has calmly lived up to some tough hype to live up to, produced without turning the ball over...and helped turn a D1 Program around. All while having a less than ideal o-line.

this years QB class is pretty poor so he WILL be the first one taken.
