well...he did basically fire a guy who won 6 in a row in the postseason at one time you know.

:D

If true then good. Wade deserves it. We need some O Line help but switching coaches and bringing in new schemes isnt the answer.

I'm not particularly enamored with Wade, but you don't fire a coach that just won you your first playoff victory in 13 years...
Ditto. You do not fire a coach that won the franchise's first playoff game in 13 years, has 3 winning seaons and 2 division titles, is the defensive coordinator who has the defense playing at its highest level in at least a decade, and is 33-15 in the regular season.

credited; people here are nuts. best season in 13 years and people wanna clean house

This team needs a mind set change.

4th & 1

Starts with Phillips.

This would be depressing news.

Jerry rarely makes the smart move. In this case I hope he cans Wade and brings in a tougher coach.

I would not keep Wade

he will never get us to a SB

so cut your loses Jerry

he s done the best hes ever done its all downhill for Cup Cake

That's as negative and nasty a post as possible on the subject 'Uno'. Just so happens I agree with you and 'hawklegion'...not just because of today, but the full body of work isnt' good enough. IF JJ thinks Red is the answer, then have the courage of your convictions to pull the trigger. If not: and I think we all know Phillips isn't winning a super bowl: then get on with it. Harsh but true.

San Diego fired Schottenheimer after their best season in franchise histroy.

:hammer:

Wade did get the team playing well the end of this season.

When you're in the playoffs or have a chance to reach the playoffs, the last game of the season is the most important game of the season.

Which is the case the last three years.

In one, they underachieved at home and lost, and got blown out in the other two.

There was some improvement in some areas this year, but I honestly don't have much confidence in this staff to win (or at least show up) when it matters most.

I don't see how you can justify bringing back "stay-puff" after the collapse against the Giants in 2007,the Eagles in 2008 and then this crap today.

Yeah, and don't forget that week 9 debacle this year. And how about those losses down the stretch. You know, the ones in New Orleans, Washington? I can't believe we lost that game to win the division, and then when we had to play the Eagles again, we really mailed it in. I guess we can't ever get beaten by another team, it must always be Wade's fault. Might as well blame the economy on him too. Thanks Wade for the recession.

I feel like I'm in a little bit of a no-man's land here as a fan. I absolutely love what Wade has done with this defense. On one hand, I love the talent we have on defense and, who knows, maybe anyone could coach them. But I doubt any other DC could come in and make them look remotely as good (see Philly and New York).

On the flip side, like trickblue said, I'm not 'enamored' with Wade as a head coach. I think he's among the best defensive coordinators in the game, and an OK-to-good head coach. I'm not sure that's good enough to ever get us over the playoff hump.

So what do we do? I like the direction of this team and feel like we are positioned to be contenders for a while. I dislike the idea of changing everything up ... yet I'm also not convinced Wade will ever get us over the ultimate of humps.

You have your opinion and I have mine.I've had enough of Wade and you haven't which is fine, but when the chips are down I don't see Wade as being the man for the job.
