News: Sheldon Richardson for a 4th (or less)?

According to NY Post, Richardson can be had for a 4th (or maybe less). Problems are his future contract demands, his past behavior, and our need for DE's, not more DT's. But for a one-year rental on his current salary, and to see if he can keep his nose clean and maybe be a long-term replacement for Tyronne Crawford, what do you all think?

I've heard a lot of rumors that the Cowboys did like him and have discussed a trade with the Jets in the past. They Cowboys just didn't want to give up much in a trade according to most reports.

If a DE with his talent level was available for a 1-year rental, I would give up a 7th for certain and maybe go as high as a 4th depending on the specifics.

At DT for 2017 the Cowboys have options. Richardson wouldn't really solve their problems on defense.

I'd probably do our 6th. We already have bodies there, so I agree, doesn't really help us although he would be a talent upgrade. If he kept his head on straight, he maybe could take TCraw's spot also.

We need a talent upgrade on the DL, other than Collins, everyone else needs to be upgraded. He could give us that.

Not sure about that. That's essentially the same value the Eagles surrendered for Timmy Jernigan, and everyone seemed to praise that move.

Richardson is a better player than Jernigan, though I guess his character kind of makes it a wash risk-wise.
