Is it just me or does he come across at least as bad in the article when he knew he was being interviewed? "Control the customer" really? You got caught being a jerk...man up, apologize, and try to make it right.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone blast Steam's customer service, let alone call them crooks.

If it weren't for Steam, there may not be much of a PC gaming industry left today.

I kind of scratched my head at that also. Steam is outstanding.

A lot of people hate Steam though I haven't found a reason to so far. I absolutely love the fact that I don't have to hang on to CD/DVDs and product codes when I've purchased them through Steam.

The first and only Steam game I ever bought was Dead Island. I went to gamestop, purchased two copies, one for my girl, one for myself. Went home, installed them on two separate computers, and we played together for 4 days or so. Then one night I we went to dinner, came back and planned to get in a couple hours of the game before bed. I couldn't log into steam, so I rebooted my computer and tried again. Got a message letting me know my steam account was suspended. No reason given, no explanation given, just a message saying contact support....not even a link to make it easier for me to contact support.

Now let me go ahead and explain for he non-steam people out there, when they suspended my account (for no reason whatsoever) they completely took away my ability to play a game that I paid 50 friggin dollars for. I couldn't play online, offline, or any other manner you can imagine. These people, with no warning, no explanation, nothing, just stole 50 dollars right out of my pocket.

So I sent an email to customer service asking what the deal was, why my account had been suspended, and trying to find out what I needed to be able to play the game I paid for. THREE WEEKS later, they sent a very short email telling me my account was banned because I was playing a pirated version of Dead Island. Which of course, was absolutely 100% untrue. So I fired an email back and let them know what I thought of their business practices, telling them that I have the box, disc, and instruction manual with the game code on it. Again...THREE WEEKS later, I received an email, telling me to write this code they gave me in the email above the game code on the instruction book, take a picture and email it back. Which I did right then. Again....THREE WEEKS later, they finally sent me an email that said "your account has been reactivated". That's it, no apology, no sorry it took so long, no sorry we took your 50 bucks away 9 weeks ago, but we'll give it back now. Nothing.

I've never pirated a thing in my life. I'm a huge believer in paying the companies that work hard to put out the products I enjoy. I sent an email to the Dead Island developer and let them know that I would not be buying any more games they produce that have mandatory Steam connection. And you can bet your bottom dollar I'll stick to that.

Couple of updates on this story.

Kyle Orland provides a follow up interview with Paul Christoforo after a simple email chain escalated into internet infamy.

N-Control official response to Paul Chrostoforo's actions can be found here.

Kotaku.com even has a whole section devoted to covering the entire ordeal.

...and finally. This is a pic of the now infamous Paul Chrostoforo.

Exactly! It was so humorous to me that he comes off as a complete jerkface in the article. He has no clue about Customer Service.

That being said, anyone that threatens a person's family over anything ridiculous like this is a complete tool.

Having working in public relations, N-Control's response (news release) regarding the issue was fantastic, well-written and thorough.
