Shoonmaker has got to go!

Keep in mind that Schoon (a so-called blocking TE) isn't all that great at blocking.
I think he gets knocked for that more than he deserves because we're not happy spending a second-round pick on a blocking tight end. Spann-Ford is almost like having an extra lineman out there, which is why he gets the nod over Schoonmaker as the second TE. Their receiving ability looks pretty similar.

I'd be just as disappointed with Schoon if he were a 4th-round pick, but the reason he's still on the team is that he was a 2nd-round pick, imo.

Trigg looked better in a the few series he played than shoon ever has. This will show me if jerry is finally getting smarter and getting over his player coddling. Trigg has some serious upside and seems to also block.
His name isn't Shoon.

I don't know about that. He hasn't done anything IMO to run himself off the roster. He just hasn't done anything to elevate his position, either. He hasn't stood out. As a third TE, that's OK. You want to upgrade the position if you can, but I don't think he's shown himself to be unworthy of an NFL roster/backup role, which is all I expect of players taken on the third day of the draft. I expect more of second-round picks.
