That's right zoners...
They finally came down in price, any recommendations?

Probably be better off googling blu ray reviews and see what you find.

I bought a ps3 a couple of weeks ago after my friends drove me nuts about getting one for a year.

I dont know about everyone elses, but it seems to get hot awfully quick. That worries me.

but the blue ray player in there seems to get good reviews.

Make sure the vents on right side have plenty of room. If it's in an entertainment center, move it as far left as possible. When I had mine centered in it's space in my entertainment center it got hot and very very loud from fans, after I moved it over to the left it was much cooler and is very quiet.

I think the PS3 is still the best for the money. Just make sure whatever you get can get firmware updates and is able 2.0 capable.

gotta go ps3.

for the money it's a bit more than standard bluray but it's a ps3 man. you can play gta4 and run over all kinds of peds.

a bit strange using a game control for the remote, but thats fixed when i program my universal. quality is the best.

Does your universal have Bluetooth? How'd you program your universal to work with the PS3?

Also, if the bluray spec changes, the PS3 can receive updates. Not so much for a regular standalone bluray player. Although, im not sure how much of a concern that would actually be.

Thank you all for the replies.
A PS3 is an attractive option, but I'm more into the stand alone player.
Seen a bunch of options and researched a lot about the subject.
Sony has some reasonably priced and positively reviewed players.
I think by the end of the day I'll have one.

That's one of my finalists.

I was just going to post the same one. I've seen this one in action and it looks really good to me.

300 bucks isn't all too bad.

I have both a PS3 and a standalone and I like both but I prefer the PS3. Just more flexability with it.

its done...got that one.
Watching Tropic Thunder on is right now.

Just bought a PS3 about four hours ago. I'm in love. Finally see what 1080p is all about.

Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll be happy. This blu-ray stuff is unreal.
