Playyyyoffs! I can't believe you guys are talking about playoffs. Haven't we been embarrassed enough. Time to shut it down and try to get a higher draft pick. This season's a wash, might as well face it.

No, if it's a two-team tiebreaker between Washington and Tampa Bay, the Bucs win based on head-to-head. But in a three-team tiebreaker (if the Vikings also finish 10-6), the Commanders would win based on conference record. We'd then be in a three-way tiebreaker with the Vikings and Bucs, and we should win that based on strength of victory.

Oh damn, I didn't even see that tb played wash head-to-head. Well then for sure we can't make it with one loss from tb. So in that case, it would first be a three way, with boys, tb, and wash, which makes us compare division foes first. That means the Commanders win against us. So it will be the Commanders vs the bucs, and the bucs would be in due to head-to-head victory. Then it would go back to the boys vs wash, and wash wins based on head-to-head sweep. DAMN.

So I guess I will go back to my origian statement. TWO Cowboys wins + ONE Commanders loss = PLAYOFFS!

Lets hope we can get it done.

No, in a three-team tiebreaker, head-to-head applies ONLY if one team has swept the others. We haven't played Tampa, so the Bucs' win over the Vikings wouldn't come into play at all.

Let's just try to win out and let the games fall where they may.

We screwed up enough by losing. Just goes to show that even the first game of the season matters.....NOT just at the end.

You only get 16 of these a year. We're 8-6.... playoffs are absolutely not out of the question. Stay in it until the end. The draft will come either way.

I ran it any wich way and agree - we can't host a home playoff game.....Hence Dallas playoff tickets refunded today and taken off DC.com. There must be computer models that do this. Dell Secrets spinoff.

it's also crazy how many teams can end up tied with same NFC records if we win out.

Its going to come down to strength of schedule.

Anyone have a link to that? With that data I could maybe finalyze this further.

But, in a 3 team between Wash/Tampa/Min. Tampa would win, since they have swept both Min. and Wash. Therefore, we'd still be out as it would fall to Wash/Min. after that. Tampa has to lose 2 if the Skins don't lose any.

Our conference record would be 10-2 if we win out. No other team (in the WC race) can match that. We would beat out Minn and Tampa if we all ended up 10-6 (if I'm not mistaken)

Anyway, come on Carolina, Baltimore, and Tampa!!!!!!
If those teams win this week (which is very possible), we clinch.

Not necessarily. If Carolina loses to Atlanta, the Bucs can win the division. And in a tiebreaker with Carolina and/or Minnesota, the Commanders win. It then would fall to a tiebreaker between us and Carolina and/or Minnesota, and we'd win that.

In a tiebreaker with Tampa Bay and Minnesota, the Bucs would win based on a head-to-head sweep of the Commanders and Vikings.

Dang it - my playoff ticket for the Dallas home game is truly over.

We are struggling to win tiebreakers just to get in.....after going 2-0

Well yeah, there are other ways, like the one you mention that we can make it. But as far as if it came down to a wildcard spot with Tampa involved, they need to lose 2. Unless there is some other scenario involving Atlanta, but that probably falls into the whole Carolina thing too. Bottom line really though, is if we win out, there are plenty of ways for us to make it. Carolina loses to Atl. Wash loses to NY or Phi, Tampa loses both, etc.

Only if Washington finishes 2-0. If Washington loses one, we'd win any tiebreaker involving Tampa Bay at 10-6.

The main thing with all these tie-breakers, is that when you have more than a two team tie, you follow the three set tiebreaker, but as soon as one you get a winner, you revert back to step one, with any remaining teams with the same record. So like with the bucs, skins, and boys. If all are tied, and no one else, and there are two spots, it first goes to step one of the three+ team breaker, which says eliminate any division foes, so wash vs boys, wash wins. So it becomes bucs vs wash, and bucs win due to win over wash. Now at that point, it is not like the skins are just in, you have to re-evaluate all remaining teams at the same record. In this particular case, the skins win, because it would be the skins vs the boys, and unforunately the skins win due to the sweep. But then main thing is, if you have a set of three teams tied, its not like the first one out is done, and the two remaining are in. In certain scenarios, it is possible for three teams to be tied, team A,B,C, where team C is eliminated in a breaker with all three, to start, but is not out. Because, at that point, you will apply the tie-breakers to A vs B, and lets say A wins. You will not instantly say that A & B get in since they were the two out of the three. You actually then revert back to the tie-breakers between B & C. And it is entirely possible, that at that point, team C wins the breakers, so overall teams A & C would get the two wild-card sports, and not team B.

It is for that reasoning, that certain ties between us and other non division teams, could/would still go our way, even if it seems we are eliminated first in a three team tie-breaker.

We will max protect Bledsoe enough for the offense to be effective.

Then we'll all be angry, wondering why Parcells stood there on the Washington sideline with a pouty grimmace on his face instead of calling for it last week after our first 2 possessions.
