Am I wrong?

Owner is responsible for selling Jerseys, etc.. GMs are responsible for filling in personnel needs. It's almost contradicting doing both. Thoughts?

Don't get me wrong, I think JJ has done plenty for the sport in general.

He shouldn’t but he is and until someone comes up with several billion dollars, nothing is going to change!

no lol

u do not want ur gm to be dictator for life haha

but jerry dont like accountibility

and it really stink for cowboys fan because we cant even say it will be better after jerry because it will just be stephen doing the same thing

With the value of franchises these days, I'm not sure there are too many that could be the sole owner of the Cowboys anymore. Bozos? Musk? Anymore you get ownership groups that hire a gm. Jerry got in at the right time unfortunately...

Of course not but when Mike Brown and the Bengals made the SB a couple years ago, it was probably bad for us fans because it likely made Jerry dig in his heels even more.

No. An owner should not be a GM.

It wouldn’t matter he wouldn’t sell the team. Hes stated numerous times he’s been offered more money than he imagined and turned it down.

Will McClay is the GM...thats why they keep him year after year Jerry just has the formal title

Nope shouldn't be allowed to happen. There needs to be a chain of command not just a General running the whole show. hard for the owner to hold the GM/owner responsible.

Rich dudes and their egos - they should "stay in their lanes".

Especially when you haven't done squat in almost 30 years.

Maybe the league should ban owners or familes of owners from being GMs, and all teams must hire an OUTSIDE GM. We need intervention here, otherwise...
They will hire some puppet as a GM look who did we hire as a coach

Should an owner be the GM?

There is a two-part answer

Answer: Yes if the owner had a mom-and-pop business.

Answer: No if the owner had a multi-billion dollar corporate enterprise. An overseer of such an elaborate financial operation should always hired experienced qualified professional equipped to independently accomplish goals set forth by the owner. Business 101.
