Should NFL contracts be guaranteed, along with no salary cap....

I say yes, then u want see these 6 year 80 million dollar contracts knowing that they can not cut these players... Contract would be more like 6 years 45 million for Manning.

Also player would stay with team longer while no worrying about been a salary cap concern

P.S>>>> I hate Free agency.....and the salary cap. How in the world can basketball suit up 12 players and their cap is 50 mil and football suits up 50 players with only 80 mill room....

Why the he11 would you guarantee someone money before they ever work for you? Would you pay a plumber to do the work before it's done? What happens if a player gets injured and is forced to retire. Are they going to have clauses that protect teams from that?

The money the players are after is the signing bonus that is money in hand, if you get a 13 million dollar bonus the player sees it all at once, the team gets to take that 13 mill and speard it over the lenght of the contract but the player walks out with the check in hand.

Why not.... baseball money is guaranteed and the owners have insurance if player gets hurt. Owners recover money and players are set.

The signing bonus is the NFL's way of guaranteed contract. Weak version but effective to secure some funds.
