Should Dallas be going for 2 in PS?

Dallas kicked the xtra point, and I thought they should go for 2 in ps and see how it goes.
They should have worked on 2 point plays , and came up with some new ones that have a high
success rate.
I notice some teams are going for 2 in PS, NE did.
It is pointless to kisk extra points or fg's IN PS.
I would also go for it on 4th down if in the other teams side of the 50.
Go for all point after td with 2 point try, and run back all punts and most kickoffs.

I think some teams (in regular season ) will just keep kicking the extra point, but some may go for 2 even early in game.
It would help to have your team ready to go for 2 and have certain play they run good and have some confidence in doing it.

I tend to agree. If the preseason is all about evaluation and less about actually winning, then wouldn't this be the perfect time to evaluate how your team can execute 2-point plays with the new PAT rules in place?

On the other hand, you could also make the argument that you'ld want to evaluate how your kicker will handle kicking from the new location... but ultimately I think it would be more beneficial to just go for 2 in the preseason as you said.

I think they probably wanted to try a game situation from the new location, and then since we didn't score again we never got a chance to try any 2 pt conversions.

Guys, we have a sample size of 1. Not a lot of chances for variety there.

I think they already have a good enough idea of their chances of converting a 2 pt attempt. Why put that on tape for the giants or iggles?

well they dont have to use their top secret plays ! lol
it would be more exciting for the fans watching these practice games.
Kickers, you already know what they can do, and they can practice same thing any time.
The thing is in certain weather and field conditions the 2 point play is going to be the better choice.

I was watching HL of other games and 1 kicker missed the extra point wide right so it isnt a sure thing anymore.
And this is the ideal time as winning these games are not important, you just want to see starters play good, and evaluate the others.

So be bold, wild, and crazy in these games!

The point of doing those things during the preseason is so the FO can evaluate the players occupying the bottom half of the roster. It's not going to prepare the team for when they need to do it in the regular season. That preparation happens in camp and practice. Think about it bro, the guys running the plays during these preseason games won't even be on the field (or team) during the regular season.

Maybe against Minnestoa when the first team actually plays.

I don't care if guys who will be on the street in two weeks go for 2 or not. Get Bailey the kicking reps for now.

If we are evaluating our ability to convert a two point conversion with a roster bubble QB then we are likely worrying about the wrong things

Going for 2 points, is basically 4th and goal situation, so they get much practice on that anyway in TC. A live situation for a PAT from the new distance is new. That needs practice and timing as well.
Not concerned about the 2 point conversion. I am sure we may see it at some point. But it will not bother me if we don't.

Well the starters should play in this next game, so lets see if they score and if they go 2 or 1.
Bailey doesnt need the reps , the 1 is just a short FG and it is easy to practice that.
another thing is if they run the ball for 2 might as well see if our OL and RB can score in that situation consistently.

If it's the 1's, sure, I say get the reps against a real defense when it doesn't count.

Otherwise its just a waste -- get Bailey the kicks in with crowd noise, wind, etc.

I just don't see many more teams going for 2 than in the past
The odds of kicking it from the 15 is not going to be much less than before and the odds of converting a 2 remains the same
Teams most of the time are going to kick the extra point
