Should Dallas consider Darrelle Revis?

I think he could help us. With that said, it would have to be a one year prove it deal. He is not worth the mega contract right now, because some feel he he lost the island. If he balls out, we could try to resign him next year. Do you think he is worth something close to the Mo Clay deal? 1 yr 5 mill?

The Cowboys need cornerback help ...
Darrelle Revis can still play, but he needs to find a zone scheme or a team that won't put him in man coverage all the time. I could see Revis in Dallas because Rod Marinelli runs a simple two-deep or three-deep type of defense. The Cowboys don't blitz a lot because they're not in man. Plus, this would be a great spot for Revis if he's looking to play for a contender.

Steelers, Bills still could find value in Revis at cornerback
Darrelle Revis' best position is at cornerback, and he needs a situation where he can play in a zone-based defense -- one that will allow him to play off-coverage, use his eyes and jump routes. I don't think he's at a point right now athletically where he can play in a press system that will force him to execute bump-and-run. But in a zone system, Revis is still more than capable of being a very good corner.

I don't think so. He's coming off his worst year and has only gotten older. I also think I saw somewhere that he is still demanding big money.

Did the NFL clear him from any potential suspensions after that incident in Pittsburg?

He's legal free but not NFL free. He's seeking 8 mil per. Revis at 5 mil per seems tasty to me

What's it going to be then, eh?

If he'd cost us a compensatory pick, no.
I believe the Jets cut him, so he would not factor into the comp equation. I am more concerned about price and whether or not his head is right. It was not last year.

Pats are interested too. Yet, we have an abundance of our fans saying a hard NO on him no matter the price. Personally id like to bring him in and if anything move him to SS. Then we can draft CB DE and BPA

help us do what? we went backwards? should we pay him for a one year deal to just be a cowboy? what is the point to that? what is it with some fans who just want to see a guy in our unifrom? at this point in time we have opted to go backwards, unless we are signing young FAs which isnt happening anyway, what is said player going to offer?

New England is in talks with him. Why do they want him if he is no good?
Cause NE isnt having rebuilding their secondary in 1 off-season. Plus the GM and coach can afford to take chances like this.

Its pointless. Revis is near the end. He has become just a former big name player and would be a waste of money and a roster spot. He has always been a Mercenary.

Completely against it. This defense is moving away from man and into more of zone cover 3 look similar to Seattle's. Revis is awful in zone and hates tackling, which makes him an awful fit for the new direction the defense is taking.

If we sign another DB, we can enter draft with complete BPA mentality
That would be a good move.

I agree.

Any way we can sign a guy at a good contract (incentives)..

I would sign him and release him next year unless he wants to stay.

Not having to waste a high pick for a DB would be great.

I want DL for both our first picks and get some pass rush and no suspensions for a change.

Absolutely, after losing 4 DBs including Mo Claiborne AND Brandon Carr, there is certainly a glaring weakness going into the Draft.

Even if Revis isn't what he used to be, he's still greater than Carr and Claiborne in their prime.
