I think a name that I am pretty dissapointed to have not heard mentioned in Dallas is Marty Schottenheimer. As top coaches go, the Marty has proven to be willing to work for just about anyone. He workied in Washington for a meddling owner. He worked in San Diego for a meddling GM. And he dealt with it very well in both places.
If the Chargers do want to replace him, they may just wait for the superbowl and then hire a hot coordinator to take over. Frankly, they might allow Dallas to talk to him for no compensation to get out of having to pay him to fire him. Schottenheimer is dogged by the thought that he cannot win in the post-season (like Tom Landry was for so many years). That and the limited number of open head coaching slots available will mean while he won't be incredibly cheap, but he won't cost Parcells money either.
Let's look at his record:

In 21 seasons he has finished below .500 only twice...That my friends is Landry-esque in today's league.
More importantly look at the QB's he has developed. Bernie Kosar. Drew Brees. Phillip Rivers. He turned career journeyman Steve DeBerg into a probowl QB. He is the kind of disciplined head coach that could get Romo's loseness with the ball under control.
If you doubt that, consider this---the guy went 8-8 in Washington starting TONY FREAKING BANKS.
Additionally, Schottenheimer has always had very competent 3-4 defenses.
When you make a checklist of what you want, schottenheimer fits most of the criteria pretty well.
