Should Jerry Jones bring in an offensive consultant for Jason Garrett now?

I know.He passed away in 2007 I believe.When I made the post I was thinking of his Dad's Dallas connection and typed Dick instead of Mike.

Then you write them down and look foolish. That's my point. He's Ned Pike. Stop listening to him.

Yes, I will tell him so to his face provided punks like me are not flies on the windshield of his 6'3" 245 pound life.

well he is a real close friend hostile, he was my sounding board on football conscious stuff like pop was to you that passed away. So, its hard to just stop listening to another dallas cowboys fan you know. But like i said, i have it figured out now, I even told him you kinda challenged him on the board.

when he wants to tell me cowboys stuff i will tell him, he isnt helpless, post it on the board, if he wants his opinion heard post it, otherwise im not going to listen to any cowboys news unless he has it written down with facts to back it up.

dont know, all i know is waht they were saying on the fan, but they just announced on another post,that wade got a 3 year deal; similar to what norv turner got i think;

so that seems to put what they were saying on the rob ryan thing on thefan wrong, again, i was just posting to what a sports announcer was saying with his inside source. So, i was wrong, wont be the first time im wrong and wont be the last; time will tell now if wade is the right coach now, have to wait those 3 years now to see i guess

i spoke to soon, they pulled down the 3 year deal off of the dallas cowboys website, but other posters are saying cbs 11 are saying a done deal too;

so i sure dont know what the heck is going on, that maybe why the announcers on thefan said that jerry jones told them no news would be forthcoming on the wade contract today, nothing

mickey s... said he thought the contract issue would be settled tomorrow or thursday for sure;

you have to remember another point someone posted about too, if you sign wade for 3 years and there is alock out in 2011, wade and jason etc would get so much money for nothing, just sitting at home and mickey didnt seem to think that jerry would do that for sure, with jerry jones being the business man he is

Wouldn't that be true with every team not just the Cowboys?

Despite all the drame in this thread, I'm ALL FOR bringing in a consultant to teach situational play-calling.

How in the world can someone have a problem with that?

Would we have all been happy to have a "consultant" come in to work with the coaching staff? Oh that's right, it ALMOST happened earlier this year and I remember people being upset that it DIDN'T pan out.

Still sick of OJT.

My IQ dropped four points reading this thread. My bad.

BTW, I think Reeves would have been accepted around here due to his pedigree mostly not to mention he's just a great, experienced and smart guy. Too bad it didn't work out. I'm not certain another consultant would work. But I'm certainly open to someone helping Jason out. I'm just not sure Jason is open to it.

honestly to me, it seems Wade was trying to help jason out and either Garrett or Jerry got twisted about something.

Wade is an honorable dude, if he was trying to do something he was trying to do something right by Garrett.

I imagine at that level of success egos are hard to avoid.

Garrett needs someone experienced calling the plays. He is not a good play caller.

I think its more of a philosophy thing. His approach is execution. NOT adjusting and exposing weaknesses. He comes from a Cowboys team that said, here is what we got - try and stop us. He is doing that with this team. It doesnt always work. Probably wont work in todays nfl.

When we were 13-3 he was a genius.

Did he lose some brain cells??

No, I think he is too predictable.
He's a young guy with old ideas and doesn't seem to try and throw any wrinkles in. When something works in one game he seems to go to it in the next and the next game.
The other teams aren't idiots .

I don't know his work habits ,but I think he has to think out of the box a little more.

Progression, to Move froward . Status quo does,'t work in the NFL.

Agreed. Execute or kill the drive.
I cant say I like his approach. Things are different now.

I dont know how true this is, but i heard someone say that liar coach childress attacked jason garrett because our defense and wade was too good. But that jason was too simple on his play calling and formations, etc.

Well, if there would be a good consultant just for the offensive side of the ball he just got signed by the Bills. Chan Gailey................

We're trying to use a more modern version of our 90's offense coach techmo style, lol! Gailey understood it and knows how to operate it much better than Garrett in an overall game sense that correlates with the defense, ST's and overall circumstances of the game.

Norv Turner is the only other current coach living/working who knows it any better and we all know where he is.

I'm afraid to read this thread now. :laugh2:

I will say that I have a problem with some of the personnel decisions on offense. Unlike the defense, I'm not convinced that the best players are being utilized correctly on offense.

Agreed.

But it does SEEM that FJ is now the starting RB now but that didn't come about until the end of the season.....it just seems that he's slow on the uptake with some of players. It took an injury to get Austin more playing time....and that was one injury that looking back I am HAPPY for!
