Should Lee Sit the Rest of the Year?

As many of you know, I'm an Athletic Trainer at a high school, and our policy generally, is that if a player sustains two concussions in a season, that athlete is done for the season. I understand it's a long way from the high school ranks to the professional, and there are many different factors involved. But knowing concussions like I do (and many of you do as well), and with all the light being shed on possible effects down the road, would it be better for him to sit, or if he is cleared, should he go back to playing?

Just want your thoughts.

I think so. I doubt he sees the field any time soon. It takes less and less to knock him out it seems. He's like an old fighter. Hopefully for his own health he sits for a while.

That's a decision Lee and the teams medical staff will have to make. I don't have nearly enough info or medical knowledge to try and offer an opinion one way or another. I would think the severity of the concussions and risk of getting another one and what kind of increased damage,if any,it could cause.
I know this. It's one thing to risk fouling up a knee and not walking right in your later years. It's a completely different thing when your dealing with the brain. So safe to say, with that injury. I would certainly err on the side of caution if I were him.

He should play if he meets all of the protocol requirements. If he sits out the remainder of the year, i promise you the front office will be looking to move him ( if pissible) or cut him. If he wants to get the rest of his NFL money he needs to play and plAy well. Take 2-3 more years of punishment, save his money, and retire.

I think his days are numbered. He just gets injured too often.
I wouldn't risk it. He gave it a go, but his body just can't hold up.
I think he needs to retire.

I understand what you're saying, and I respect it. It's a very real take. I just worry that, if he gets another one this season, he'll be looking at Post Concussive Syndrome. If that's the case, it won't matter how much money he makes. He won't be able to enjoy it. He'll be spending it all on long-term care.

I've had more patience with Lee than many on the board but I've just hit my tipping point with this last concussion. Lee retiring now seems to me plausible, and maybe even smart.
What a dominant player when on the field during his pro career--these "could've been" stories are a bummer.

I know in 2013 he had a head/neck injury of some sort that ended his season. I believe it was a torn ligament.

What I am unsure of is whether or not the neck injury accompanied a concussion.

He's had at least two so far this year, and I want to say he had one a 2-3 years ago.

Ok. I was just wondering if he was getting to Wes Welker territory. I know having them so close together is really bad and once you get one you're more susceptible to them. That's too bad for him. I don't think anyone could blame him if he walked away.

Well he wont retire, maybe he should, but he wont.
I think if I were the coach, I would play him in the GB and Carolina games only and maybe the playoffs if that happened.
Also would tell Ro not to hit him anymore !!
That way he gets several weeks off till Carolina game then 2 weeks between that and GB.

Dallas and jerry will put him right back out against TB though, wait and see.

I think he needs 3 weeks off minimum.
