Should moving Tyler Smith to LT be considered

Nope.

All pro at guard. You don’t move him. One of his biggest issues was over reaching at LT which led him to be the highest penalized player in college. When they put him there prior to last season that was starting to happen again. Leave him at guard, put Booker at RG. Put Steele on the yacht and leave him there. That’s why I don’t like this pick. Now Hoffman stays on the bench. I thought he earned that RG spot.

To little to late now but this also now means you may need a LT if you move Guyton to RT where he belongs.
Are there any LT's with the first name of Tyler still available to draft.......

IF Guyton is a failure what else are they gonna do?
It's why at the barest of minimums if they're taking an oline position the clear choice was Simmons at LT.
Upgrade at both TACKLES was the oline NEED.
Choosing ANOTHER guard did absolutely nothing.

Never mind. The pick should have been to shore up their number one need of stopping the run in the first place.
And Kenneth Grant was chosen one pick after Dallas.

I think with the addition of Booker, your best line might be (from left to right) Smith, Hoffman, Beebe, Booker, Guyton.

With drafting Booker, ther interior OL looks like it could be dominant for the next decade. However the OT's are still very questionable. Guyton showed some promise. However overall he really struggled and alot of maturity questions popped up while he was sidelined. Getting healthy scratches when he was ready to play is very concerning. Can we count on him to be our LT?

Smith came in cold and played LT against Pittsburgh and Detroit and had strong starts. Hoffman played well down the stretch at RG, and his skill set may actually make him a better fit at LG. I think you play him there, he may actually be a plus starter
if you move Guyton to the RT and get rid of steele, yes. why not. I think Bass would do OK next to Smith and Beebe

Steele got better as the season progressed. It may have just taken longer for him to get all the way back from his knee injury. He's a hard worker, so maybe he'll get back closer to the form that resulted in his contract extension after he allowed one sack in 2022. He allowed nine last year.
no he didn't. he played against lesser competition. he still had no lateral movement and he always had help.
I think Steele is done. but we are going to keep him for another year.

I'm not saying I wouldn't consider it, or that it's a bad idea.... I'm just saying I don't think there is any chance the Dallas Cowboys braintrust does something like move T Smith out to LT when they just invested a premium pick in the position last year knowing Guyton needed time to develop....I know this team has a PLETHORA of G's and no idea what to do with any of them now but I still don't think that they would move an all pro LG to LT, a very recent 1st rounder to RT, demote a multi year starting RT, just so the Hoffman can play RG.....seems like a huge risk for very minimal reward and not something we have ever seen done before.... it's so much easier to just plug in Booker at RG and trust that Guyton or Richards has taken the necessary developmental steps to succeed at LT and trust that Steele has worked himself back into the form he showed 2 years ago. This seems much more like the Jones way of doing things...

Of course it needs to be considered I think they'll try a bunch of different combinations throughout all these small camps then training camp and if they need to the parachute will be shifting smith the left tackle Hoffman at left guard.. They're going to put Booker at right guard so don't even flinch that's not happening not moving him but hopping her bass will be auctions at left guard but yes that will be the parachute the thing they need to do like in in the event going through preseason they don't like the feeling they're not waiting until those games to make this move that was Mike McCarthy's thing he was unwilling to make changes until it was desperate time and it was too late

Of course
Been saying it for 2 years
He can play LT at a high level
You will pay him like a LT

LOL, makes sense to any organization except these morons

Good teams consider every option. So yes, your best player & a player that was drafted as a T should be considered. Get the best combination of 5 on the field and don't worry if one guy might individually have been better at a different position. The unit is what matters.

no.
he's an all-pro og.
a hof'er just retired on the right.
keep smith on the left...booker on the right and let guyton sink or swim at tackle.

This infatuation with Hoffman I still don’t get. It reminds me of the love that undrafted TE from Michigan a few years ago received from most board members.

If Hoffman or Bass earn it and Smith is a better LT than Guyton I would definitely be in favor of the move. I don't know that is the plan though.

Let's see the jump Guyton can make. If he can atleast be a quality average LT I would leave Smith at LG.

Only if Guyton and Richards struggle. Dallas is set to have one of the most powerful interiors in the league. Don't change that unless you have to.
Tyler is in an all-pro comfort zone at LG. I don’t understand why anyone wants to mess with that.

This is premature, but it’s like asking Larry Allen or Zach Martin to switch to OT because they can play and possibly excel there.

Problem is, do we start the season with garbage at LT, or can Ty Smith play there and still be a great LT and not just a great LG? Maybe Guyton is better at RT and just won’t work at LT. I think they should at least consider it in camp if Guyton looks stagnant…..got to get the best people on the field.

Smith-Booker-Beebe-Steele-Guyton

0% chance it happens, but yes, that would be our best 5. Richards, Jones and Hoffman as backups…hope to sneak Bass onto the practice squad

You know you are stacked on Oline when you hope that you can sneak Bass onto the PS.

Damn. Leave some Oline talent for the rest of the league.

No, Tyler is an average offensive tackle at best. He is an All-Pro guard. The reason they drafted Booker was to make the interior of the offensive line great. Moving Tyler to tackle would weaken two positions.

Absolutely not. Be a huge mistake.
