Should the Cowboys trade for Ryan Fitzpatrick?

Uhh....has anyone actually watched him play this year? He would be a huge upgrade.

The issue with Dalton wasn't just that he looked bad, he looked terrible. He couldn't diagnose a blitz to save his life. He couldn't come off of his first read at all. He consistently had our players in bad positions to make plays. It seemed like he predetermined where he was going with the ball before the play even began, and he was going there no matter what.

I know it wasn't all his fault, but he looked like a rookie rather than a seasoned vet out there. And that is concerning.

I see no reason why you wouldn't put a call in to the Dolphins. Dalton is here on a one year deal. Fitzpatrick will come in on a one year deal.

At the end of the season, both are going to want to leave anyway. Dangle a fourth rounder out there to see what they say. His comments may make the Dolphins inclined to trade him.

Huge upgrade behind this OL?

Fitz for andy even up. I think dolphins went with tua too soon. Doubt they'd trade fitz.

Looking for a spark....we win the division...we get into the dance...anything can happen. With the bye coming up...it could be like a little mini camp...we reset...go on a run. Comments?
why? what will that gain us? will that make the defense better?

We need to take L's..

We're not a top team in this league and have no potential of becoming that either. Season is over and the biggest Win we could have is getting the #1 pick. That is our Superbowl.

Exactly, especially with how bad our defence is. No need to pour gas on the fire. Take the high pick and enjoy use it to fix our glaring holes. We're not going anywhere this year to begin with.

No. Anyone you put behind center this year is just cannon fodder.

For the sake of making the remainder of the season at least somewhat entertaining to watch, sure...give up a 7th for him.

Fitzmagic in Dallas would be wonderful to see.

A few years back with brittle Romo we tried the old bring in QBs off the street. It doesn’t work because they have no chemistry with the receivers and are new to the system, which means no anticipation or quick reads. With a short camp and no preseason, being a vet didn’t really mean much for Andy Dalton, who had very few reps with the receivers and not enough time to have the system be second nature. It showed inthe first game. Dalton will improve, but there will still be some issues. Luckily, we play an offense this week that will struggle to put up 20 points unless we help them.

first off NO

Fitz is nice backup / temp starter but so is Dalton..10 tds 7 Ints isnt that Fitz numbers right now? i believe over the next 10 games Dalton can produce, fitz has been on that offense and team for his second season correct? Dalton played one game with a backup OL and bad defense..

give him a shot he will be as good as Fitz..we dont need another qb behind that line and with that defense.. we can ride dalton..

No. This season is going to be a lost cause no matter who is at QB. First, the entire offensive line if broken and it is not getting fixed in 2020. The Cowboys are down to their 3rd string tackles on both sides. If Martin is out again, they are playing guys they probably never intended to play this year.

Then, there is the defense. They will get Lee and Awuzie back but that is not going to make much of a difference. And that assumes no one else gets hurt, a bad assumption considering the rate guys are going down.

The Cowboys need to accept their 2020 fate. They will get a much needed high draft pick in 2021 when they can pick an impact defensive player, a much needed playmaker on defense.

Jerry screwed up this team again with his stupid contracts for players like Demarcus Lawrence. He overpaid Zeke and Jaylon SMith as well as Amari Cooper. He put us in CAP jail again, if they sign Dak. This is what needs to stop.

These players have to hit rock bottom. Then maybe they put up a fight.
