Should we begin thinking about tanking?

The annual tanking thread, as if the Jones boys are going to do that.
Jerry Jones has been trying to recreate the wheel since Jimmy Johnson left. Meanwhile, some fans have been turning to tanking at the earliest possible opportunity for nearly as long.

Jones and some fans have something in common, namely, doing the improbable. Who would have ever thunk it?

Fans don’t seem to understand Jerry. He believes he has his young quarterback in Lance. Dallas would not draft a quarterback even if one of Pennix or Nix fell to our draft position.

Don't tank intentionally, but make a change to Rush. See what happens. Maybe he's a better fit for the WCO. Maybe he goes off and we win a binch of games. Maybe not. Probably not. If not, start Lance last month of the season, see what he's got. At least then you've tried something and go into the offseason knowing exactly where we stand and you draft a qb no matter what.

Either way, we ain't getting Williams so put that dream to rest.

This is a lost season and we aren’t winning the Super Bowl anyway. Let’s tank and hope for the number 1 pick. This team is a circus and Dak can no longer hide his red nose!!!! Tank for Caleb Williams and cut trade Dak right now for the highest bidder.
The losers will give up.

I don’t see why not. I’m done w dak and MM. tank and draft a qb to compete with lance and rush next off season

What’s the point of going 10+ wins every season knowing the qb is going to stink it up in the playoffs every single time

Jerry instead learned the foundations of the NFL back when the merger became a foundation of the NFL in the modern era. Post 1950's. Jerry knows the standard and was well educated...in a world where President Kennedy was assassinated and the Saudi Prince was escorted to Cowboys Stadium with Jimmy Johnson griping his butt off.

Oh, he understands function of franchise and the specifics as well. He always strove for a competitive team on the field and never surrendered to giving up or starting over every few years.

Jimmy was a very strong coach, but no where close to walking on water.
