Should we draft a RT?

I say yes. Give him one year as a "swing tackle" since La'el Collins is on the last year of the 2 year, $15M deal he signed last year. He don't seem like the long-term solution. He's killed drives with his false starts or holding too much for my liking.

He's an UFA next year. Time to cut bait with this dude.

They could. Maybe one of the 4th round picks.

Yes!!!!!!!!!! In fact, I'll go a step further and say unless we're planning to resign Collins ( I wouldn't ) in 2020, we better find his replacement ASAP.

If it was me, I'd look to sign a free agent fro couple years, draft a RT and package Collins and 58 to slip back into the 1st round ( one bottom feeder teams). If that doesn't work, move into the 10 top of 2nd round.

Man, We watch different games. Collin is my starter at RT. I love La' el and Martin side-by side especially on pulling plays. They look like two Charolais bulls moving down the field. I remember as a kid how mean and tough our Charolais was. He always woke up with a burr in its hide.I just wished that Martin and Collins would play mean like old school Eric Williams.

Yes, Dallas should draft a tackle also. A college tackle is usually the best Lineman on the field for a team. That is why so many tackles play guard in the NFL. It was obvious that the Line was out of sorts for the season. Smith's back is a concern, C Williams needs more strength. Looney play well but it was easy to see that he is not as good as Frederick . Martin had an injury against the Bengals and was hobbled the whole season.

Dallas should draft best player available. If that happens to be a tackle or guard then turn in the card.I am open for just about any position on draft day with pick 2 and 3. The Cowboys have many areas of need.

Guard is off limits IMO.

We have an all pro, a young player that we just invested a second round pick and a guy that has proven he can play in this league(Looney).

Either the guard will be a wasted pick or you’re admitting we wasted a second round pick already last season.

This is of course not relevant if you feel Fred might not be right.

Move him to his natural position he is stout there. But this FA is so smart they would argue that 2 plus 2 is not 4.

Yes and a LG as well. Assumptions are being made that a year of beefing up will make Williams a NFL OL and there's no assurance of that. If it were that simple, these teams would salvage all of their weak OL. Williams was a popular pick because of playing at UT and wanting to be a Cowboy but it takes more than that.

If that kid Risner from Kansas State is on the board in the third round I seriously consider taking him.

Offensive line is the hardest position to plug and play.. we got lucky with our guys. Most guys struggle like Collins and William's. And by the time they get better its contract time.

Dallas should draft a tackle regardless if it's a left or right tackle, you can no longer depend on Smith either with his constant back problems and Why Collins isn't move back to left guard is beyond me, he just doesn't have the footwork to play right tackle IMO

Think I read he can play four positions on the OL......I agree, no way in hell he gets pass my 3rd rounder. Worst he's my 2020 starting RT, best my future LT.

You always draft an OL, any OL ….RT, LT, RG,LG,..C ..on this team, the way this team is built, you better always take that player if the opportunity presents itself.

I am starting to worry more about LT. Tyron is now going to have to get what I call then “Romo treatment”. Get therapy and a extra day of rest during the week and show up for the walk through and play Sunday. I am finding a decent sub for him. If big Flem can do it then fine. If we have a game we are blowing them out then I am subbing Tyron, if it’s weak competition then I am subbing him. We need to squeeze another 2 years from him and start looking now for a replacement.
