Should we go after Revis?

They prob could have kept Carr Mo and maybe even Wilcox for what Revis will think he is worth

we re past it now and no Revis wouldnt make a difference at this point. Even if we had a stellar CB, other teams know to go after the weak links. Dallas still has to get someone to get to the QB to help the secondary. Dallas just might ignore that all together.

Exactly!!!!! No pass rush secondary is below average a solid pass rush the secondary will appear all world. Great secondary pass rush looks avg no pass rush no secondary it's a **** storm Problem is, there is neither so it's a **** STORM

There is no way he was 240 pounds. Are you freakin' kidding me? Get this crap out of here.

This is guy who normally goes 195-200 pounds. If he put on nearly 50 pounds, it would be noticeable.
That's apparently a quote straight from Rex Ryan so take it how you will.

To play safety and help cover these big receivers and tight ends.

if it was our old defense, id say sure, it would help. this d will be practically starting over. so this year will be wasted, so what incentive does he have? Who knows how long we are from the SB right now.

I'd be suprised if Revis wasn't on the steelers. He wants to play there and their Seconary needs help.

Revis is completely washed up. Forget about him! Even ole Jerry couldn't resurrect his career!!

He gets 6 mil from the Jets to not play. So any contract would likely need to pay substantially more.
That's not really true.

The Cowboys could sign him for $2M and the Jets would still owe him $4M.

He could do nothing and earn $6M but my guess is that he wants to play.

As far as the reporter who said 240...I can't see him that big. He looks less than 200 in that pic.

I think if you get him at a reasonable price on a one year contract what do you have to lose? I wonder how much was attitude in New York verses being washed up, which is just as concerning.

Not to argue semantics, but how is that any different?

Maybe his desire to play is more than for just the money in which case that's cool. But as it stands he's making 6 mil for nothing.

seen this show for the past 20 plus years ... after a while you look at it and go "meh"

No I just couldn't understand your post. The sentiment sure, but the wording was confusing. Anyway I agree

he can help mentor whatever young CB's we are bringing in this year. Better they learn from him than a Carr, Claiborne or Scandrick type. Well I guess the former two have been eliminated.

It's great to see someone else who's aware of this fact.

Apparently, the Madden players can't be bothered with such 'trivial details'...

It's completely true. If he makes $6 million to not lift a finger, why would he put in all of the work required to make the same amount?

Do you want to tell us how it's about "winning" for a guy who's been a self-serving mercenary his entire career?

He has already said he wants to play...

"My nutrition is different," Revis told NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala. "I'm actually 10 pounds lighter than I was last year at this time. I'm really hammering out there."

Revis said that drills for both cornerback and safety, a position some have projected him to for the latter phase of his career, are similar and that he's keeping his options open.

"It's similar training, the way you train, the breaks, the checks, the calls. I've been in a lot of secondaries where corners have to make calls as well during the game," he said. "I'm very familiar with a lot of different skills."

The seven-time Pro Bowler does not think his career is over.

"The hunger is definitely there," Revis said. "It's just passion and love for the game. I'm excited for this season to start. ... I can focus on what team I can fit with and the best system."

And the poster implied he would need to make more than what the Jets owe him for him to play. That is not true. He gets $6M no matter what. We pay him $2M, Jets still owe him $4M. He could play for the league minimum and the Jets would owe the difference. He lost whatever weight he gained and seems focused on playing. I'm not saying it's about "winning: for him, I'm just saying that he is doing and saying the things to play next year.

To me, he is worth the on year risk because money isn't a big deal (this year) since no matter what he signed for with us, the Jets pay the difference up to the $6M they owe him. If he sucks, you cut him. I don't think he will; I think he has something to prove and we have a huge need at DB.

You continue to overlook the fact that he gets $6 million no matter what. He's not going to get out of bed for anything less than that amount. You'd have to pay him considerably more than that. And nobody is willing to do that and that's why he's still out there.

He gets $6 million for not working, how much more would it take to get him to work?
