Should we now hope for a lockout?

My logic is this:

There will still be a draft regardless of if the season takes place or not (I read that from Adamjt in a post yesterday).

So wouldn't it actually be to our benefit to have the lockout take place so we can get extra time to complete this huge overhaul of new coaches/OL/secondary that will likely take place?

Even if the season only locksout for say 6 weeks before a deal was reached, every extra day of practice/learning/coaching would help.

Thoughts?

I would never hope for a lockout. I want to watch the Cowboys play. We're a coaching staff away from competing. If we weren't we wouldn't be losing games by 7 points or less to very good teams by mostly shooting ourselves in the foot.

Sure, we need better players at some positions(O-Line, safety, ILB), but every team can say that.

During a lockout, there is no practice, learning or coaching.

There is nothing.

I hope I am wrong but I foresee a lockout with a long grudge battle and I wouldn't be surprised to see half the season, if not the entire season cancelled.

I have a better idea

If indeed the NFL draft still occurs during a lockout..what happens if the entire 2011 season is canceled? Then an agreement is reached for 2012? Would the order of the 2012 draft be the same as 2011? Maybe we can have BACK 2 BACK top 5 picks lol

Yea I somehow forgot that part while making this thread. My apologies.

That probably would be specified in the CBA. I'm guessing they'd do some sort of weighted lottery based on this season's standings.

A lockout would be horrible for this team so much in its prime.

I've been saying this for a while you can't waste Romo's time.

Not getting him a better offensive line, was exactly that. I don't care if the missed block was on a fullback, it was bound to happen.

Yeah what he said.....its still not settled though as to weather there is a draft or not, if the union decides to decertify there CANNOT be a draft it would be ILLEGAL and a whole mountain of lawsuits will rain down on the owners. Lawyer up por favor.

How would the draft work in 2012 if that happened.

Would you have one large draft pool of guys from the 2011 and 2012 classes? I don't think the NFLPA would go for that.

Would you hold 2 drafts? I don't think the owners would want to be hit with double expenses on top picks all at once (signing bonuses).

Would the 2011 class be some type of restricted free agent able to sign with any team?

NO we shouldn't hope for a lockout. The idea of going over a year without football is just insane. My God.

I'm in favor of a partial lockout. I want to lock Wade and most of the coaching staff out of their offices, but I want to do it now and not wait until 2011. I want Stephen to change the locks on his dad's office door and stage a coup d'etat. Then I want to lock out of the locker room some defensive safeties and offensive linemen, then have their cars towed from the parking lot if they still don't get the message.

But no league-wide labor trouble for me......I can't live on hockey and basketball.
