Should we prepare ourselves for Connor Cook?

I can at least see the logic of Prescott. Given Cook's inability to complete 60 percent of his passes with a top 10 team ... how do you draft that? I wouldn't draft him at all.

I actually like Cook ok for us. In the third. The thought of moving up for him turns my stomach. I don't believe we'd do it though. It's gotta be Lynch.

The NFL is all about coaching and the QB. Everything else is moving parts. So that's why you see teams "overinflating" guys that they like.

That's true, but there is a "coaching inflation" also. Every coach looks at certain players and thinks they are the only ones that can coach them up to success and unlock the physical talent they see.

Lynch is my favorite as a QB choice and I like Prescott, but overall I think Dallas has earned the benefit of the doubt with the last couple of draft classes. Cook wouldn't be my favorite, but I'll give the team a honeymoon period to see if the guy they pick is the right one.

His stats are his stats. He's not an accurate passer. And despite the notion that he's a big game QB, he's had some dreadful performances in some big games MSU has played the last few years.

Not sure how one can smear him with the fact he was positively awful in the Iowa game last year, for example.

Good criticism. The smear campaign I'm referring to is the stuff about leadership and one awkward gif

I probably won't watch any more of the draft if we move up for Connor Cook.

It would be that much of a stupid buzz kill.

I would, but I could definitely sympathize with you.
If we're not going to get one of the two best quarterbacks in this draft, then use the rest of our high picks 2-4 (assuming we take Elliott) to rebuild the defense. I mean, if you're going to take a quarterback to sit behind Romo for three years, why not just pick a developmental prospect with upside like Hogan or Prescott or Driskel later in the draft?

Cook is a ideal Jason Garrett QB, something is not right him though.how can a 3 year starter at QB not be a team captain?. This is some stuff straight from the movie Draft day.

A host up in here in Philly, during a round table discussion of the draft last week, called it "QB intoxication". The phenomenon where teams are so consumed with finding the next QB to lead the franchise that they overinflate their value.

Connor Cook going in the first round would be a textbook example of QB intoxication.

QB goggles.

He's ideal because he is mediocre.

Cook would have to fall all the way to the 6th round before I'd even consider putting a jersey on that bum. Say "NO!" to Bo (Callahan).
