Should we Trade for Eli Manning?

[Add restricting players' agents from joining the site to the agenda for upcoming moderators' winter meeting]

Eli has one of the best WRs in the league and can’t get him the ball. He just dumps it off to the RB most of the time and he’s not mobile.

This may be the dumbest thread I’ve seen in awhile.

He would have a better offensive line than the Giants. He also may be rejuvenated to go for a 3rd SB win. Lastly, and most importantly, he could mentor Dak for the rest of the season.

Thoughts?

We already traded our first pick. Tanking would only benefit the raiders

This post deserves a CZ benching

I would say a 2020 1st round pick is a fair deal for the Giants. They probably want to get rid of him as he's been on the decline and a 1st shows we don't want to risk the Giants trading him for much less to another team.

Just because he wrote his name in the locker room doesn't mean it belongs there.

No, not close to a similar situation. The Cooper trade is questionable because we had to give up a #1 pick, but he is a clear upgrade to our WR position (Eli wouldn't be), and he's very young and can be a top player for a long time (Eli isn't and can't).

Not a similar situation but stupid nonetheless. Amari has done nothing over the past 2 years to warrant a 1st round pick!

We already have a better offensive line than the Giants but so what. The Giants offensive line is not the gold standard so being better than them is not really saying anything. The QB Eli is today is a dumpster on fire. There is no rejuvenation to be had from him even if he drinks straight from the fountain of youth. Eli can mentor from the sideline just like Mark Sanchez did for Dak his rookie season but I'm not picking up his tab to be Dak's sideline mentor so forget that idea as well. That's 3 strikes and you are out of here.

You're a hater, he needs a wr coach and 4+ years on this team before we say he's not the guy /sarcasm

Literally lol’ed when I saw this title, is this serious?

For a conditional (SB appearance) 7th, and the Giants pay his remaining salary (above the minimum) on the year? Sure. Eli is an inconsistent and mediocre QB at best, but his highs are much greater than Dak's. You just have to hope for not too many lows during the season and that the highs are timed right for the postseason.

I take it you don't watch the Giants?
