After watching the Giants mimic the Jimmy Johnson strategic maneuver of rotating 7-8 on the DL ; isn't obvious to all how bereft we are of talent on the DL?

Our DL is unwatchable including the overrated Ratliff not to mention aging Ratliff .
A great pass rush can hide average CBs like Ross.

We need to think here , signing 3 Dbs isn't the full answer.

Depends if Jerry actually get's some oline talent on the team first.

Maybe we should get the best available GM before we can get the best of anyone.....:banghead:

Whenever you draft based solely on position, you usually end up reaching, or taking a guy that doesn't really fit your system. If a guy is there that you have rated at that spot, and he fill a need, and fits what you want to do, then take him. Otherwise, no.

I would think they could find some pocket pusher types in free agency that wouldn't break the bank. You should try to avoid forcing a pick in the draft unless the value is there.

Oh yeah, because it's really easy to be voted to the Pro Bowl if you're a Cowboy.

I think we should just take the BPA. We are not a team that is one or two players away form a deep playoff run. We need to rebuild the defense and upgrade the o-line.

Take the best player regardless of position. The Giants didn't need JPP (can't and won't spell his entire name cuz i'm a hater) but he was the best player on their board. The Ravens do the same thing, and then you create great depth on your team. The only position i know I wouldn't do it for is WR (see Matt Millen). If the best player is an OG, OT, C, D-Lineman, LB, or DB, then take that player. In other words, we shouldn't go wrong with our first picks, because depth, talent, and especially 'PLAYMAKERS', are needed across the board!

Right, but we also have enough talent that if you're drafting where we don't need to improve, we'll never get better.

The 13 Cowboys voted into the 2007 Pro Bowl say hello...

Eh, they've been hyping up the "DLine rotation" every year here it seems.

I wouldnt hate them taking that DL from Penn State. I trust our current scouting regime after thses past two drafts.

Dez, Lee, Smith and Murray are all blue chip players and we have hit on a couple more. I think it is not appreciated how much of a scouting background Garrett has and how that will help this team going forward with Ciskowski.

Not really because creating pressure was not our problem.

Huh? So, Eli getting 10 minutes per pass attempt is pressure? If Ware or Hatcher didn't get there this year, we were toast. WE NEED PASS RUSHERS (and to release Newman).

On a statistical basis, we were among the best in the league.

Unless you can provide some reason that the statistics are incorrect, I'm not buying. A fan's flawed review of what happened on the field isn't sufficient.
