TO needs to get some more money and a 2 yr contract extension. Not later, right NOW. This would really show him what he means to this team and will do wonders for goodwill in years to come. He has proved his value and we need to lock him up for the remainder of his career. He is a physical freak and has a number of good years left in that body. He is CRITICAL to our offense in more ways than one and has proven to be a good team player and leader of the young WR's. He knows he is on the tail end of his career and he is not going to make waves if he is involved in the offensive gameplan.

TO is the type of WR that has to get thrown the ball early in the game. I don't care if it's just a slant or a hitch, just throw him the ball. It get's his mind right and feeds the "monster". This is nothing new for any of the big time playmakers at this position in years past. Rice, Irvin, Swann, Moss, etc.. , all wanted the ball early and often.

If we don't lock him down for years to come, what do we have to replace him? Crayton, Hurd ?? Glen might retire and we won't find a draft pick that can make a difference for at least a couple of years.

Bottom Line: Is TO worth the investment? Can our offense be as good without him?

You must be a relative looking for another hand out from Owens.

I don't think that we ever have to worry about Jerry not making players happy with contracts.

Just look at how we have played without Terrell Owens and ask yourself is he worth the money.

This team is not the same without Terrell Owens on the field, it is painfully obvious.

That is one of the advantages of having Terrell Owens. We have him and nobody else does.

I am a big TO fan and I think this is the wrong time to even consider it.

After the season... Jerry can do a contract extension.
I bet its actually midseason next year... like with Romo.

This is, in my mind, why we need to spend some resources (draft picks and/or $$) to find our next #1 WR ASAP.

Yep, the Wide Receiver position is literally holding this team hostage.

During negotiations, all Owner Jerry has to do is take a glance at Hurd, Austin, Crayton and Stanback and he will realize Terrell Owens has just about all the leverage.

Nope, I'm just a fan much like yourself. Now, I wish I was his first cousin :)

TO still has another year on his contract and is what 34ish? I wouldn't even dream of resigning TO until around the end of next season. Most of the top WRs really start to fall off around 35ish and before. (of course Jerry Rice is always the exception to the rule)

It's outright stupid to extend a player a year early when he will already be 35 when his current contract expires.

I agree with you to an extent, TO is has been great this year and is a tremendous weapon. But to say look at the team without him.. i can't agree with. The Team without him as been 2 qtrs in Carolina, a team the coachs knew we could beat with ball control and we were up 14. And then a meaningliess game against someone we might see in the playoffs, so why would the coachs tip their hand on how they would use the WR we do have.

We didn't use a lot of motion yesterday to isolate anyone or to gain the match ups we wanted, we just ran straightforward routes. It would not be the same with the season on the line and the coachs would use the WRs we do have differently than you have seen.

Are we better with TO, no doubt, what team wouldn't be. Can we win without TO, i firmly belive that to be yes. But i will not hold it against the coachs for not putting all their cards on the table Sunday in a game that didn't mean anything to us.

Miles Austin is beginning to look like little more than a big stiff with blazing speed - ala Alexander Wright of the early 90's.

Rather than extending a guy who is 34 and still has another year on his contract we should really be looking at getting a top WR in the draft someday soon. We haven't spent a high draft pick on a WR in a long time and it shows as we haven't developed one we drafted since Michael Irvin in 1988!

We need to get younger and much more talented at WR BEFORE Owens and Glenn are done, not after they retire. Trying to hit on a project WR taken in the 6th round is not what works in the NFL. Hoping to land a top FA WR has worked OK at times but has also bitten us in the rear.

We need to sign good FAs as well as select top quality players in the draft. Everyone says that it takes time to develop a rookie WR and I totally agree which is why we need to make that move NOW rather than later. Let him play behind our veterans for a year or two and develop.

This insistence on not taking WRs in the first round has cost us. We have two 1st rounders this year, let's not hesitate to spend one on a top quality WR if one is available to us when we select.

Miles Austin is the new Macey Brooks. All the physical attributes but can't catch a cold.
