Showers moved to strong safety, may be activated

The dude is good on special teams. And he has he athleticism to make that change perhaps.

is he worth the roster spot? I really havent seen special teams hurt us yet

Right now? No.

Way too many injured guys who need to come back first.

When Smith, Green, Scandrick, Dez are back then yeah.

jk. This is an interesting transition

Nice to see the staff is finding a place for Showers after all he's been through. He's possibly something of a long shot to develop sufficiently as a safety but if nothing else, he could probably prove useful as a special teams contributor. As I recall, he had done so early in his career and fared reasonably well. He didn't appear at all timid about the contact, considering he'd been a QB so long.

This may be in response to what's going on with Bailey. If Heath has to kick, that means someone needs to take his place on ST's as well as backup safety.
Promoting Showers to cover for Heath and then having Heath do the kicking would be the dumbest thing the Cowboys have even done.

Just add a kicker to the 53 instead of Showers.

I have never seen him tackle anyone and lay a vicious hit on a rb. Can he even play strong safety. Thats a run stopping position. All i have seen are reports that he practiced on special teams a year ago

I know. I just keep reading that Heath will be the kicker if Bailey can't go.
