SI: 10 guys that need to go... now (Flozell Adams #9)

From the text of the list:

It's time for the Cowboys to make an upgrade.

Two things:

1) Flozell hasn't played THAT poorly of late. He hasn't been up to his usual standards, but coming off his injury that's to be expected.

2) It's time for an upgrade? Okay. Who is available?

That was really strange. Basically, it says "Flozell hasn't been bad, but he might be bad over the remainder of the season." They couldn't come up with somebody better (um, worse) than that for number 9? Really?

I also liked their Haynesworth blurb. "We're all for giving a guy a second chance, but..." not really, since we're putting him on this list. (Note: I'm not defending Haynesworth, I'm just annoyed by SI trying to have it both ways).

Really poor article. I'm surprised a magazine with the standards of SI - oh, wait a minute. Never mind.

Flo should be moved to RT next year.

Makes sense, has he played in that position earlier in his career or college?

Magically delicious? Yuk!

You didn't love "the charms"? Sacrilege I tell ya.

It's the one cereal I didn't need milk for as a kid. Well, unless you count Booberry and Capt'n Crunch ... oh nevermind ... I'm getting hungry.

He played RG for us his rookie year but I don't know about RT in college.

that was the dumbest thing I ever read.

***but they face some tough pass-rushing teams in the coming weeks and Adams may not hold up in the critical left tackle position***

Well shouldnt we wait to see if he does hold up first before we say he **Worn Out Their Welcome***

SI sucks, they got no ability to analyze the game so they take huge pictures and write two sentences that sound great to people that are casual fans.

STATS Inc. says Flozell Adams has allowed 5.5 sacks and one holding penalty for a total of 6.5 negative plays in nine games.

Compare that to these other left tackles --

Robert Gallery 10.5 negative plays
Leonard Davis 9.0
D'Brickashaw Ferguson 6.0
Walter Jones 5.5
Bryant McKinnie 5.0
Orlando Pace 4.5 (in eight games)

Does this mean Walter Jones is one sack or holding penalty away from "needing to go"?

Freeney vs Flo is the matchup that worries me the most.

I'm not as worried about that matchup, Yeager, since Mr. Moxie is behind center.

The matchup that worries me the most is on the other side of the equation.

Ellis-Replacement vs. Addai or Clark.

When you think of that matchup, it makes you feel a bit better that we still have Al S on the roster.

Didn't Gallery miss a game or two this year? If you look on ESPN, it says "did not play" beside every game of Gallery. Sounds about right if anyone has watched him play. He is horrible and I am surprised that he only has 10.5 negative plays listed.

Flozell does not deserve to be on that list. Most guys coming back from his injury would not be 100%.

The Oakland Raiders offensive line has allowed 47 sacks thru 9 games..... and they don't have A SINGLE offensive lineman on the list... yet they throw Flozell Adams on there.

This must have been written by the idiot Pete Prisco. Oh my bad... he writes for CBS Sportsline... might as well be the same thing. Its all TRASH anyway.

I'm surprised he didn't put Roy Williams as the #1 player who has worn out his welcome.

Freaking idiots.

How about Robert Gallery?

Can he be more of a disappointment and "need to go"?

Flozell Adams | OT, Cowboys

The Cowboys have surrendered fewer sacks since Tony Romo took over for Drew Bledsoe, but they face some tough pass-rushing teams in the coming weeks and Adams may not hold up in the critical left tackle position. He had season-ending knee injury last year. It's time for the Cowboys to make an upgrade.
