*RBDarren McFaddenArkansasJr.6-2212* PROJECTED TRADE WITH PATRIOTS *
OK, relax. I know it's a long way out to be calling for a top-10 trade, but I can't leave McFadden on my board any longer and it's a good bet the Patriots would rather vacate the top 10 than use the No. 7 pick that they acquired from San Francisco in last year's draft. I think the Cowboys would be better off sitting tight with their two first-rounders (22 and 28) and taking the best receiver and running back available in those spots. But Jerry Jones is a risk taker, and McFadden has a chance to be this year's impact rookie. He and Marion Barber would make quite the tandem.

Dont know if this trade is even viable? Thoughts?

Not sure what I think obviously wouldnt mind DMAC but would like to keep 2 1st rounders

Doubt it happens, but if Gholston and Long are gone, I wouldn't put it pass the Pats to deal down. And then if we throw Bobby Carpenter in the trade pot, call it a done deal.

The NFL Draft Value chart matches up pretty nice trading #22(780 pts.) and #28(660) for #7 (1500).

Might have to add our 4th rounder, but I've heard teams just use the chart as a guide.

Well, from a Cowboy perspective this Mock is just useless...Not gonna happen like that

I doubt this trade scenario because I think either the Bengals or Bears would offer more in a trade to the Pats to get McFadden. Anyway, mock drafts before free agency are useless. For example, if New Orleans signs Asante Samuel then they definitely won't be drafting a CB like most mocks have them. If the Cowboys sign Javon Walker, then the Cowboys won't draft a WR with their first 5 picks.

Here is the only thing about that which makes me doubt that is possible.

When I was listening to the Cowboys radio show yesturday it was explained that if Dallas cuts, or trades, Carpenter before June 1st then they have to pay the entire 4.5 million dollars, of his signing bonus they still owe, on this years cap. A cut or trade after June first means they do I like it was 1 or 1.5 this year and then the remainder of it would be dead money on 09's cap.

With that in mind I seriously doubt Bobby Carpenter is on any trading block or is going anywhere, at all.

A top CB & WR might easily be available at 22 & 28. No way do I want to give up our 2 first rounders for McFadden. Also I hope we sign Javon Walker as he'd make a good #2WR but only if he healthy enough and comes cheap enough. Also we still definitely will need to use a top pick on a WR. Why is it so difficult to understand that if TO misses any significant playing time during the season our passing attack comes down to only Witten (great TO but not great speed), Crayton (no speed), Hurd (no speed), Austin (inconsistent) & Stanback (still unknown). Let's get real here. Now the addition of a healthy Walker will give us a viable WR option but someday soon TO will be gone and we can't wait til last minute or plan using dearly needed cap money on FA out there who will cost millions which might limit our ability to keep Ware or another valuable player of our own. The new drafted WR will have this year to develop & learn the routes, get his blocking up to speed, etc. Admit I'm hoping if we get Hardy or Thomas that they can make an impact this season like a few have as the season progressed.
