Houston is pretty much all over the map. You hear the Batman comparisons and then you hear rumblings that he is going to have trouble with the pass interference rules in the NFL. On the other hand you have people who love him. I really respect Mayock for sometimes going off the party line on the hot and cold prospects. He appears to develop his own opinion and isn't afraid to state them. He is very high on Houston and I heard him today on the radio say he will have Houston listed as his 12th best prospect in this draft on his big board.

I guess that is why the draft is such an inexact science.

I really don't like the Cornerbacks this year. I'd only grade Hall and Revis as first rounders..

I would draft Lynch and trade JuJo for whatever. That would give us a speed back(Tyson), a power back (MBIII) and a mixture in Lynch.

At CB we can just continue to give GLenn and Henry scecial injections and pray for the best.

I don't agree ith this, if Lynch is there he's ares any chance you would move up justa couple of notches for Aaron Ross, he's the one we want and it looks like he's gone....

Houston is significantly better as a "football player" than Carroll was at UA. Carroll was a slightly better athlete. I would love to see Houston here. He will need time to develop but has all the natural ability to be a cover corner. His biggest trouble is with large receivers (a la the 6'4" Sidney Rice) but that can be compensated for until he improves in that area. I think the people bashing his run support have probably never watched him play. He is plenty physical. He has good character and made plays when he needed to last year. If only he could play quarterback. He was easily the Hogs best defensive player all season. Team (except SC) either avoided him or paid for it.

I think he'd be a fantastic complement to Newman and Henry. I would prefer him over any safety other than Nelson. Houston is never going to bash another player with his helmet during a game. The cornerback position would be set for years. Is he a big impact player his rookie year? Not unless they play Henry at FS. So I don't think he's a lock. But anybody who says that it's a bad pick or is down on Houston has probably not watched a lot of him.

I've been all over the map on this thing, but I've narrowed it down to Houston @22 or Merriweather after trading down a couple of spots.

I can live with anyone named "Houston" with a star on their helmet.

i think ross will be the pick
houston is a good press coverage guy but he plays with his hands on every play. if he can get over that he could be a tremendous pick.
i don't think jerry will take the risk and will go with the safer pick ross and we do need a punt returner and ross can do that

I would be so pissed if Lynch fell to us and we didn't draft him.

Mayock is in love with Houston...he said today on espn radio that he had Houston rated the 12th best player in the draft

by the way he said he had Lynch going at 22

Trade Julius. And yes, he is ABSOLUTELY an improvement over arm-tackled Jones.

I guess we'll see...but I dont ever recall seeing Turner doing anything near what JJ did vs Seattle, Chicago, NYG, Carolina etc etc

if you have, please wake up from your fantasy dream...even in preseason, Turner's never ran like that
