I'm not excusing Owens' behavior but if McNabb acted like Tony Romo, Owens might still be in Philly. Both were to blame.

Doubtful. Owens primary gripe was his contarct. Philly believe he signed it and should play and he felt he was underpayed and should get a new deal. That led to him firing his agent that negotiated the contract.

His gripe with McNabb was that McNabb defended the organization and not the player. McNabb was a 100 million dollar man and his loyalty was to Reid and company as opposed to TO. It was all down hill from there.......

Had Jerry not paid TO his money, nothing would be different and TO would not be happy.

I agree with you for the most part. The root problem was TO wanting to renegotiate after just one year into a new contract. Not a good thing. But if McFlabb had kept his trap shut, I believe T.O. would have continued to play in Philthy, because there would not have been the feud between the two of them. That was the main distraction. Who knows though.

In the initial drama that unfolded, TO brought up McNabb's name; he did it in public and he did it in the media, which eventually led McNabb to publically state that TO should keep his (McNabb's) name out of it. TO did it as a way to prove his value to the team, as opposed to the guy that got sick during the SB (paraphrasing).

It's amazing, but McNabb never had a problem with the team prior to Owens arrival and the locker room never had an issue. The guy was called an "Uncle Tom" over this whole issue for goodness sake.

I hate the Eagles...despise them and having to listen to their fans every day. But McNabb was nothing but a model citizen from a good family who was thrown under the bus because TO wanted more money. I don't like McNabb the player and I hope he fails miserably as a QB of our most hated rival; but I respect McNabb as a person and a model citizen who has been vilified in TO's wake. This whole Philly fiasco was about money. Plain and simple.

Oh... OK... I see we are switching it back to TO's fault.. completely.... the HATERS rejoice.

You leave out a few things:

McNabb couldnt deal with TO getting any star treatment/
McNabb stopped throwing to TO and saying things like "I am going to spread it around to my other WR's... well duh... but IF TO is making the plays or is WIDE OPEN on a play designed for him... dont you think he should throw it"

Lets see if we can blame TO for:
  • Garcia playing better than McNabb
  • Feeley playing better than McNabb
  • McNabb getting pulled for Kolb
  • McNabb going to Chicago
  • Andy Reid's kids problems
I am sure you all can find a way:rolleyes: :lmao2:

TO's fault about what? I merely pointed out that this whole issue was about money, plain and simple. Do you dispute that? Or was there some other, more noble guiding force that made TO trake a stand?

Why is it when someone makes a comment, he's got to be a "hater"? I live near Philly and rejoiced in every moment that tore apart that team. But I left nothing out. The facts are the facts.

Where do you get this? McNabb and TO both had carreer years when they played together, they were unstoppable. McNabb kept throwing him the ball and TO kept scoring TD's at an unreal pace. Fans bought TO jerseys, McNabb contunued to throw him the ball. Fans chanted that disgusting TO song and McNabb kept throwing him the ball and TO kept scoring TD's. It seemed as if they were made for each other and those two would haunt the NFC East for years to come. Not good news for Cowboys fans back then.

[/LIST]

The stats between the two don't lie. Are you saying that TO didn't get the ball enough in Philly? The ONLY thing that stopped the McNabb to Owens machine was TO's broken leg that sidelined him.

Come on man. TO isn't angel, he had his faults. Just because some one talk about TO's faults doesn't make them hater.

My favorite all time player is Roger Staubach but if he did something wrong, I'd point it out. Don't be so sensitive about TO's faults.
