Imagine still taking the job as a Dallas Cowboys head coach while knowing full well all that is involved with working for Jerry."Jones is wonderfully adept at making it seem like he has a plan and, certainly, we will start to see its machinations now that the wheels are coming off the current iteration."
A huge part of this is the cultlike following Jones has amassed over the years. Too many Cowboys fans have devoted themselves to Jones and refuse to see that the person who openly tells you is responsible for everything is responsible for what this team has become.
"He cannot and will not fire himself. Instead, he must find the kind of people who can remain one step ahead of his worst impulses. The kind that have rendered the Cowboys rudderless and meaningless at the tail end of the 2024 season."
Imagine having to deal with the many complexities of being a head coach at the highest level and also have to be handicapped with an egomaniacal football moron who insists on assigning you assistants, dictate game planning, player usage (“touches”) and strategy, strip of you of any real authority over the players, have the ultimate say on draft picks, and limit your ability every year to add talent (no free agency).
This is how Dallas has gone three decades without competing for championships.
Yeah, I guess the worldwide attention is still the only appeal imo.
Because the number one priority in your job description is to win "in spite" of your owner.
Not the best of working environments to choose from.
And here we are.
AGAIN.
