My $0.02 is these kinds of "Is Dallas really America's Team?" can be counted on to be published roughly once a month and especially when the Cowboys are down.

IMHO, the very fact that articles like this are written only confirms that the term "America's Team" will always been associated with the Dallas Cowboys.

In an NFL Films highlight video summarizing the 1978 Dallas Cowboys season, announcer John Facenda dubbed the Cowboys “America’s Team,” thus providing the moniker that has been synonymous with the organization ever since. But with twenty years since the Cowboys’ last Super Bowl win and a shiny new stadium more known more for an oversized scoreboard and attracting opposing fans than providing home-field advantage, are the Cowboys really still America’s Team? If not the Cowboys, then who?

There are few examples that demonstrates Americans' lack of imagination as much as this monthly obsession attempting to steal Dallas' nickname due to poor personal ingenuity to create a suitable substitute. It's pathetic. It has always been pathetic. And it always shall always be pathetic.

Is SI still relevant is a better question. But to digress from the topic a bit...

In Green Bay, the Packers reflect the civic mindset of keeping one’s head down and going about their business. They don’t trash talk. They don’t flaunt success. They get up every day and work hard to keep it going. And they win. That’s the Packer Way.

Has this guy been to America? Because his description of the Packers doesn't sound much like America to me.

Not to mention, ol Discount Double Check never flaunts anything.

Oh geez. This question again.

The fact that they need to keep asking this question every single freaking year should tell them the answer without having to actually ask it.
