I think the thing that marks down Nevis in some scouts/teams eyes is the fact he sort of a tweener at 6'2" 285 lb.

He's certainly proved he's a disruptive force in college, but where do you put him in the NFL?

Is he quick enough to play DE in a 4-3 scheme?

Can he anchor edge as a 285 lb DE in a 3-4?

Is he strong enough to be a full-time DT?

Ultimately, I think his best chance to succeed is going to be in a 4-3. I think he can be a great rotational player/super-sub for some team.

*he might resolve some of these concerns if he gains some good mass at some point.

one safety in the top 40 at 35. ugh. One center and no gaurds. Well centers and guards can easily come in second and third rd but still.

How much money did Locker give up by not coming out in 2090?

People always say that but who's to say he wouldn't have been exposed in the workout process. It was widely known last year that Locker was a project, but people believed that Sam Bradford's injury would keep any team from taking him #1, thus Locker seemed like a logical option of someone who could go #1

That's true to an extent.

Locker's value was at it's peak after last season. Being that was the case, he could have limited his participation in workouts (had he wanted to) and still have been taken high.

Being that it was such a poor QB draft, he would have very likely been the 2nd QB taken off the board somewhere in the Top 20.

Still has a chance for that. This year he's the only QB between Luck and Mallet that gets to play in the senior bowl. It's not a long shot for him to regain enough momentum (not enough to go #1) to go top 5 or 10.

You really cannot make up for a poor season with a good Senior bowl; or a good week of practices before it. There might be some GMs dumb enough to think that one week means more than a whole season, but that is a reach. Right now he is going to need that just to stay in the first rd.

He'll definitely get a boost if Luck chooses not to come out.

I think you're right, his best bet to gain momentum would be in private/pro day workouts when he can just sling the ball and show off his arm and athleticism.

I've wanted to like Locker, but he's just not been that impressive to me. His accuracy is questionable and his mechanics might turn some teams off. Not that it's the end-all be-all, but his college QB rating is a very mediocre 127.3, which is good for 64th in the nation.

FWIW, by comparison, here are few familiar QBs:
Christian Ponder - 45th (134.5)
Nick Foles - 30th (145.9)
Matt Barkley - 23rd (151.6)
Greg McElroy - 14th (158.4)
Ryan Mallet - 9th (162.9)
Andrew Luck - 7th (163.3)
Richard Stanzi - 3rd (175.1)

2010 represented a "breakout" season for Locker and his stock was on the upswing. This season his play has remained relatively the same, with his completion % and QB rating actually down a bit (thus far).

Jerrell Powe sounds like he'd be a beast here in the 3-4. Too bad he probably won't be on the radar for the early 2nd rounder

Cameron Jordan has really shot up the draft board if this is close to being correct. I really like him in the couple of Cal games I've seen.

I'm really getting intriuged with the idea of taking Da'Quan Bowers and moving to a 4-3. He could play like Justin Tuck ... strong side end in base, and then shift inside on nickel and let Spencer outside. Spencer could rotate in and out on both sides in base and keep the Ware fresher. Next year is Spencer's last year on contract, so you probably let him walk.
