Skins dangling Springs, want Johnson

Calvin Johnson is considered by many teams to be the best player available in the draft, and the Commanders are smitten with him as well, sources said, mulling over options to trade up to get him (the team has shopped cornerback Shawn Springs to Detroit, which has the second overall pick, again in recent weeks).

Bucs coach Jon Gruden recently called Adrian Peterson "as good a running back coming out of college as I've ever seen." Could it all be a smoke screen? Absolutely. At first glance, drafting Peterson seems like overkill after picking Cadillac Williams two years ago. But don't make the mistake of dismissing the notion.

Some believe that the Eagles should select a young quarterback in the draft. The Eagles insist that they remain comfortable with Donovan McNabb as their No. 1 quarterback. Until McNabb returns, nobody can be certain if his recovery from a serious knee injury will be more similar to that of Carson Palmer or Daunte Culpepper.
Cowboys looking to move up in Draft?

If the Cowboys move up, it would be for a potential star such as Calvin Johnson or a running back such as Adrian Peterson. If the right deal is presented, however, Dallas would move up. Jerry Jones said that the team will not part with anyone on its current roster to move up from the No. 22 pick.
Bucs may seek trade for Bears LB

The Bucs joined the list of teams interested in disgruntled Bears linebacker Lance Briggs, according to the NFL Network. Briggs was mentioned in Internet trade rumors involving the Bucs, Giants, Broncos, Bills and Commanders.
