Tell me how this team is getting all this respect. Even though it means nothing, it's annoying me to hear this group of Panthers constantly being called the best team in the NFC. STATISTICALLY we are better in every aspect of the game than this team. Total offense, rushing O, passing O, total D, and passing D. The only area that they have an advantage is in rushing D. A difference of 18.3ypg. We are better in scoring D by 1ppg. And they have a 5.4ppg advantage in scoring O. I'm not saying that we're the best in the NFC, but I know that Carolina is not. I guess we'll find out later this year....

Im sorta glad we arn't getting much respect from the media. Maybe that way the boys can fly under the radar and make it to the big game :-D

So a Dallas fan is upset because Panthers are getting some love.

I think the Panthers have been a more consistent team than the Cowboys. However, we will see what we're made of because we have to play them later this year.

No it's not JUST because they're getting some love. If they proved anything to anyone I would be fine with it. What have they done though? I didn't say we're the best team in the NFC (reread my post). I just don't see how everyone thinks they are.....

And to top it off, one of their (Carolina's) losses was to the lowly Dolphins down here!

I think their secondary is vulnerable too.

Panthers have been getting media love the past 3 years. Even las year, they got it, because they were losing because of all their injuries. Let them have it, who cares at this point, it will be settled on the field later. It isn't like they are a bad team. The Iggles are still getting some media respect too.

Walk the Walk as JJ use to say.

7-2, 6-3. They've closed out their games, we haven't. Their defense was good before this year, so they are a proven team. They finnished last year on a fat run, almost making the playoffs after that abismall start, while we finnished 6-10. If you go back to last season, when that streak started, they are like 13-3 up until this point, that warrants some credit.

Carolina just has that winning edge about them, much like Pittsburgh has and New England had. It isnt pretty and is rarely statistically pleasing, but they always seen to win.

I certainly don't think Carolina is much better than any other team in the NFC but I do think they are a bit tougher. I think they beat Seattle because Seattle just doesn't bring it strong when it counts. I think Carolina is more dangerous in the playoffs than during the regular season. They have that battle-tested moxie and toughness from either being there or their head coach.
They don't excite me but right now I don't foresee anyone in the NFC beating them in a playoff game.....
Sure they have some weaknesses and I actually think that we would be the best matchup with them but if we can't find a running game, then they'll control the game and beat us.
And I definitely don't mind the Boys not getting much love. I like being underestimated....as long as we take care of business on the field, come December and Jan, they'll have to talk about us because there won't be that many teams left to talk about.

Uh, because they went to the Super Bowl two years ago and they have back one of their star players, Steve Smith, who was instrumental in their Super Bowl run during the playoffs.

Carolina is a good team, but their schedule has been real soft so far. They've played two decent teams, the Patriots and Bucs. The Cowboys on the other hand have played the Chargers, Commanders, Eagles, Giants, and Seahawks. Not trying to take anything away from the Panthers, but whatever.

I hope you guys beat us in the regular season like you did 2 years ago.. So if we see you guys in the playoffs we can know what we did wrong, then smash the cowboys in the playoffs.. Kinda like 2 years ago, when you didnt even score a TD until garbage time.

29-10..

BTW im a Panthers fan..

Out of curiosity, do you feel that Minter is having an off year so far (for his standards)?

Morgan got hurt last week I believe. How bad is his injury?

dunno about Morgan, but he came back in the game right after he hurt his shoulder again..

Minter hasnt had an INT since our playoff game vs the Rams though.. I dont know what wrong with him..

Panthers arent pushovers, but they have beaten up on the NFC North and AFC east, the worst division and an average at best one.

I know, play the games you have, but if were going to always be faulted for going to the wire with SF then so should Carolina for squeaking by Arizona, GB, and Detroit in consecutive weeks by a combined 8 points. They havent done much to be the consensus favorite in the NFC. No one has. Its wide open between anout 5 teams for that.

Don't forget the fact that we are in a much tougher division and have played more games on the road as well as twice as many inter-divisional games.

But who's keeping track...

Not to mention the majority of their defeated opponents have been a joke.

the Panthers are getting all this love because many "experts" before the season started, put them in the NFC Championship game, and so far, they're well on their way, even though they haven't really played anybody, and as another poster stated, let us wait till we meet them...
