Sick of the Media Piling on T.O.

It's really getting old. In the paper, on websites, on ESPN...everyone continues to ask the ridiculous question about JJ adding Roy Williams (WR):

T.O, Roy Williams, Jason Witten, MBIII, but there's only 1 ball...How can they keep everyone happy? Are there enough balls to go around?

Sheer idiocy. No one really asks that question with any thought towards MBIII or Witten. The whole thing is about TO.

Did they ask that question about Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne two years ago? Did they ask that question about Isaac Bruce, Tory Holt, and Marshall Faulk? They certainly don't ask those questions about Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin, despite the fact that Boldin has been very upset and public about his contract situation.

Having another top flight starting WR on the other side of the field will open up more opportunities for TO to see single or zone coverage from time to time; it will force the safety to stay back and allow him to run more crossing routes; it will certainly open up the middle for Witten and keep the 8th man out of the box on running plays for MBIII...leave the SS in the box and Witten will murder them on play action. And that's not even bringing how much more effective Crayton will be as the #3 instead of the #2.

It may take 2-3 games for Red Genius to get all his toys into the game plan effectively; it may take some big plays for Roy before defenses loosen up a bit on TO; but this is a great thing for everyone in the defense, and the media asking if there are enough balls to go around is just stupid.

What's funny is that everyone is saying that this is the first time T.O. has played with a real threat WR since Jerry Rice... what about Terry Glenn in 2006? Glenn had 70 catches, 1047 yards, and 6 TDs that year... and he also had a great relationship with T.O.

But I suppose if the media points out that the T.O./Glenn pairing worked out just fine, it kills the "how will T.O. handle Roy Williams!?!?" story that they're sensationalizing now.

Man ignore the media. They love a story and there is a possibility there could be a story here. I pray that it is not a problem but the possibility is there. I hope he gets a lot more single coverage because of this trade but what TO needs to work on most of all is not letting press coverage from the LOS knock him off his route. He has always been able to get open with double teams but with the way he has been covered lately it has knocked him off his route and kept him from getting open. Having a better receiver opposite of him will not change the way teams are playing him at the LOS. Hopefully since he will be seeing a lot more single coverage he will be able to get back on his route easier after the contact at the line. If this happens he will have a lot more catches and everyone will be happy!

Saw it happen with Safety Roy, seems to be takeing the edge off of Romo, TO..........

the continuous and ever hounding media and fan pressure seems to be taking its toll..........

RW the wr will come in, drop a couple and the GROR will start signing within 3 minutes.....

its another effect of the Madden game.........

The media will spin TO no matter what he says or does. And it's not just ESPN doing the spinning. I was re-watching the Cardinals game last night (ugh, the pain) and noticed how Aikman made a snide comment, "There is TO holding court on the sidelines" when all TO was doing was talking to his teammates about a play or something.

When he sits alone on a bench, he is sulking. When he interacts with his teammates trying to energize them, he is "holding court". I am amazed TO still has such a good attitude towards the press as he does the way they twist his words and actions.

Now there saying that Red and Romo went to JJ and begged him to get another WR cause of TO, thats just retarted, and stupid. Way in the sam h** would you ask him about another players contract, if i was TO i would never talk to any1 but the owner, coaches, and players.

It's just flat out lazy journalism.

It's easy to bust out one of these silly T.O. stories, most writers could do it in their sleep, and from reading them it actually seems like they are sleepwalking through it.

It takes a lot more to work to actually write an article that offers some real insight. God forbid they actually look up T.O.'s past stats when he has had another great receiver on the other side to and write an article on that.

I actually think it's funny and just gives them more words to have to eat should the Cowboys win the Superbowl this year.

Oh my what a dark day it will be for these media hacks if they have to watch TO lift the Trophy with a smile on his face.

There has been speculation about RW to Dallas for a long time. All through the off season in fact. To say this was a spur-of-the-moment desperate move is ridiculous. That is what happens when the 'journalists' aren't paying attention.

They'll just write a story about how the apocalypse is right around the corner. :p:

Stop watching ESPN. I know its hard but they have a monopoly on the sports industry, its sickening.

Most media outlets are ratings driven, none hardly are fair and balanced - and our misery is more money in their pockets.

If you really want to get back at them, stop watching. Even after we win, don't watch. The Zone gives me all the news I need, a lot faster than ESPN could imagine. Surprised no one has sued them like Microsoft, they have the sports world by the balls.

Sorry, when you seek the spotlight as much as a TO or a Jerry Jones, then you really can't decide when or where you're going to get it.

It's the hazzard of the job and they should of known the consequences (if you can call them that) before they went for the 'look at me' mentality.

Fans are as guilty. We pound our chest about 'America's Team', about having this or that...we invite the attention, get it, and complain to no end if it is a bit negative.

By winning......that's how...

Troy Aikman once said. If you told him he would go through the entire season and not complete one pass, but they would win the SB...he will take it.

I would hope the same applies to T.O.
I know, it's two entirely different personalities, but I think T.O. would take it.
