Cleveland Browns wide receiver and return specialist Josh Cribbs attended a team meeting on Thursday after previously threatening to skip the voluntary minicamp this week.
Cribbs, who is trying to renegotiate his contract, missed the first two days, and released a statement to "Browns fans and the Browns" to express his discontent with the current lack of negotiations.

Cribbs did meet with coach Eric Mangini following the full team meeting, but Cribbs did not take part in the afternoon team workouts.
"I look forward to him being out there," said Mangini, who declined to say whether he would be open to renegotiating the final four years on Cribbs' six-year, $6.7 million deal. "These are voluntary camps, so it's not a mandatory situation.

Cribbs has intimated that he would ask for a trade if there is no progress, and his lengthy statement made it clear that he was upset

how are we going to sign someone whos still under contract?

when i saw this thread title i thought he had been cut lol.

im not in favor of trading for a guy who has been an avg reciever thus far but he was a explosive returner, not as much last season.

their probably going to try and ask for at least a 4th rounder then were going to have to pay more money and renogotiate a contract of a reciever who is still a project and work in progress like stanback is

ill pass ill take my chances with isiah

Maybe he thought of trading Ellis for Cribbs? Just a guess. I thought of the same idea myself.

Doubt anything could workout though.

hmmmmmmmmm guess you better look at his stats

He averaged 1,945 all-purpose yards in the past three seasons.

05 thru 08
KO avg 26.3
PR Avg 10.6

http://hosted.stats.com/fb/playerstats.asp?id=7448&team=5

so you want Newman to get hurt returning Punts
or Felix returning KO's

Cribbs

yea right hes a proven return guy

Cribbs has intimated that he would ask for a trade if there is no progress, and his lengthy statement made it clear that he was upset

He averaged 1,945 all-purpose yards in the past three seasons.
One of the game's most dangerous return specialists, Cribbs is also a threat as a receiver and a running back.

Why some of you guys want to trade Ellis is beyond me.

Yea lets trade 1 of our only 2 proven pass rushers. And Spencer isnt really even that proven. Why you would want to trade one of our best pass rushers, especially where our pass rush is going to be essential for our defense is beyond me.

I see no logic in that. Keep him for this past year, then his contract runs out and he's gone.

And you think the value we are going to get in return, is better than the value we get from him as a pass rusher?

I strongly, strongly disagree.

Our defense is built around our pass rush. You do not take away from that.

No hes not.

Hes nothing but a return guy and the price he would ask wouldn't be worth it.

I'd rather have Felix back there anyway.

Sorry. I'm not a fan of playing scared.

I'd rather have the most dangerous return guy do the returning.
