Similar quest mark on offense, have they really improved?

31st in Red Zone offense only the Giants are worse
Dead Last in Rushing TD's with just 6, yes that isn't a misprint
4th Worst in Penalties committed

Players lost-Cooks WR, Edoka (who was the starting LT), Dowdle (1K rusher not starting until mid-season), Zach Martin HOF
Additions-Campbell WR (3rd team in 3rd year), Sanders RB (barely played), Williams RB (hasn't been the same since knee injury)

Draft-Booker, Blue, 7th RD Back, Depth Tackle

Overhauled the offensive staff

On paper, this is a worse unit, just like the run defense, convince me otherwise. This isn't about Dak either, they lack necessary talent. Hell, our corners might be our best wide receiving options after Lamb, that is how bad they are!
Martin had lost it by last year. Offensive line actually improved once he went out.

Maybe your Stocks crashed your dog died you’re having a bad week but you thinking we’re gonna be worse even though a lot of the players we lost we are part of the problem I don’t get it do you think we’re going to be worse than almost being last in rusty vents and brush offense you think we’re going to be worse just whatever happened to you this past week it’s OK you’re a person who is just not gonna be happy at least some people use real names around here that show their negative personality so we can understand their avatars and what not there just negative people but you whatever it is this week you didn’t get your way in a draft so now everything is doing gloom and it’s going to be worse than last year even though we won seven game With the practice squad. you don’t think we’re gonna be better.

I think we will be better on both sides but you know what, I’m tired about negativity ,

we’re going to the NFC championship game this year ,will probably lose big like Washington ,but we will be going to The championship game.

you wanna be crazy on the negative and I’m going crazy on the upside we’re going to the NFC championship game ,we’re 100% improved.

We’re gonna be the best team We’ve had in 30 years ✌️
As you have seen my posts in the past, more on the positive, opportunist side. However, it’s frustrating seeing this front office repeat the same mistakes. Their strategy has proven it doesn’t work, but they refuse to change. Being a realist, team improves their run game this offseason by nothing else. In my opinion, their run defense was the teams biggest weakness and not having enough offensive weapons. They didn’t address either

We really need to add a WR2. I think oline could be a bit better. Two rookies playing new positions last year. Both should be some better. I think RB is better. Early last year we wasn’t using our RB right. So overall RB could be better. And Dak does help. Also I think we will commit to the run more. I don’t think we will be putting up 40 every week but I think we will be some better. Some better may not help since the division was better last year and they will be some better this year too

Dal just doesn't have the talent to compete with the Phil and Wash. Heck, NY got better. DAL has one more miserable season ahead and then perhaps they'll get better.

Milton is unproven til camp if he's better than Rush.
no clue who adams is but i believe sanders will be better than dowdle.
is cook really that good though?? his size alone is a negative, can't throw jump balls to him and he has lost some speed.
Martin and booker is right.
Yup, my bad Javonte Williams not Adams. lol

Rico is a better back than anyone on the roster right now
No WR 2
? at TE
rookies and 2nd year guys at offensive line

Your going to need great coaches to cover up this mess of a roster

Defense could be ok but the middle vs the run is not a big question mark
Overall I dont think they are much better if at all

Front office created too many holes in the past offseason while the other teams have been improving the past 2 years
Jones has put the team too far back in terms of overall talent

Agreed. Dak feels like a total wild card here. His performance in 2024 was certainly not on par with what he did in 2023 and the injuries in combination with his age are at a point where you can't just let him heal and expect him to be the same guy. Its certainly possible that he gets back to 100% health and his 2024 play was more of a reflection of a bad team around him than bad QB play. Its also possible that hes simply starting to enter a physical decline in his 30s.
Id make a case that Dak has a better platform around him. We've created a central O-Line that's going to protect against the DT strengths of the East which should allow Dak time.
The difference will be determined on the run game. Having a banger & Blue (over Zeke) will give a legitimate game to make defenses honest, and not sit in two high post-snap moving Safeties.
Then again i'm not upset with us not drafting a WR2 (it's a want, not a necessity), Dak's game isnt going through progressions, it's using CeeDee and his TE (and now he's got Blue as a quicker Pollard).

Just look at both the Eagles/Commanders, they have better receivers and strong ground attacks with mobile QB's. Our offense just not on their level.
But how were we going to 'challenge' those Offenses. The Offense starts with Dak, we havent got a mobile QB who can compliment an RB..... so we have to scheme around what we've got. He needs protection up the middle, especially in the 'East' with the DT's we'll be facing and a running game to keep Defenses honest.

Improving the WR2 (which appears to fuel the discontent on this thread), is a want, but suring up the middle of the O-Line and a running game will improve the unit and allow Dak to play. Set the foundations and, if we think we're competing in 2025 there are plenty of potential WR2 (along with Blue) that'll improve the passing options.

QB: Prescott > Rush (see 2023 vs 2024)
RB: Wiliams/Sanders/Blue/Mafah >> 2024
Oline: Booker is a great addition and Guyton should improve from rookie year
QB and
oline - I expect every position on the oline to improve.
Booker> Martin2024
Steele another year out from injury.
The rest all young players still on the upward arcs of their careers. Certainly Beebe and Guyton.

But RB?
Dowdle was an average NFL starter last year. None of those guys were. Blue brings juice that Dowdle didn't have, but I don't see a lunch pail RB to replace Dowdle.

I give Dowdle credit, but 3 rushing TD's and he did struggle to run against the better teams, we needed an upgrade.
You always want to get better, but having your best guy walk makes you worse.

Blue brings juice Dowdle didn't, but I don't see an every down back on our roster that anyone should expect to be as good as Dowdle this year.

I agree, if we had Dowdle with Blue we would have a good tandem, but right now a lot of question marks who will be that every down inside the tackle runner.

I really would like to see Dak under center more to try to disguise if a run/pass is coming.

They may improve, but still be behind the top two teams in the division.

Yes, adding a #2 WR is important, so is getting Ferguson to play like the prior year. Our tackles must play better and we have to prove that we can run the football against the better run defenses.

Ton of if's, but we aren't that far away, either.

In fact they pretty much decided to double down on ignoring the run game. Outside of Sanborn they really didn't bring in a real run stuffer on the front 7 at all. Thomas/Murray/Fowler/ are all pass first defenders pretty much the same in what we've had in guys like OSA/Parsons/Overshown etc. They are putting a ton of trust into the development of Mazi and a couple of 7th round picks.

Remember Eberflus scheme is similar to Marinelli's is all about quick twitch players getting up the field and playing the run on the way to the QB.
