I found some similarties between this year's edition of the boys and the 91 version.
Both teams finished with an 11-5 record.
Both got knocked off in the second round.
Both got whipped in the second round.
Both won their first playoff game in years (9 in 1991 and 13 in 2009)
Both teams entered with a winning streak (3 this year and 5 in 1991).
Both began their season ending streaks which began on the road by defeating undefeated teams. (1991 in Washington and this year in New Orleans)
Both are expected to make super bowl runs the next year.
Both Jimmy and Wade were in their third years.
As you can see there are quite a few similiarities by both respected teams. Let's just hope the outcome is also the same with our sixth lombardi trophy in our own backyard to do so that will enable us to be the first team to win the championship in our own home stadium. The words Deja Vu come to mind.
