Phil Simms being out as the lead NFL analyst at CBS is one of the greatest things that has happened in sports this decade!

I literally had to watch CBS games on mute.

Simms was the worst. The 3rd or 4th string analysts at both Fox and CBS were better than Simms.

Simms was so bad that he ALMOST made me wish for the days of Joe Theismann, Paul Maguire and that other guy doing Sunday Night Football.

I'll live without picks for Romo in exchange for this glorious news.

Lol, so true.

I would take Simms or any of the network guys over the majority of the home team crews we tend to get stuck listening to during preseason games at another teams field. Some of the raider crews calling the games a few years ago was so bad they made buck and simms sound as enjoyable as madden or Dandy Don.

Lol. Agreed

HA! Agreed. Great day for those that would like to watch CBS lol. Everybody was better than Simms.

CBS broadcast will still suck. I hate how they turn the volume down on the crowd noise. Their games seem to lack energy.

OMG, the preseason broadcasts remind you of how much of a homer local guys are.

lol. :lmao:. Thats funny. Phil was just about as boring in the booth as he was on the field...if that is possible.

SHUT THE... no, actually I have to agree with you. Simms was dire.

They also seem to be zoomed out more than the other networks which makes it hard to see details like OL play.

Now if we could just work on "Joe Buck"...
Buck only bugs me when they show him on camera.

He does cross over into analysis more than a play by play guy should, but part of that is because Aikman is not verbose.

Simms didn't bother me that much. Now Dan Fouts, he is horrible.

Still, it's as irritating as road rash.

Sportscasters in general don't bother me. 2 exceptions:

Buck, who everyone can't stand it seems and Al Michaels, whose disdain for the Cowboys has always made me ill. 49ers lover to boot.
