Simon close to deal w/Indy

Very good move in fact. Give that teama D and they're going to be dangerous. I'm actually surprised at how long it is taking Dungy to get a D. His system is usually instant D.

Yeah it is.

Tony Dungy's been taking way too long to get that D going...this should help.

Yeah, they definitely need defensive help.

I have them tentatively scheduled to win the super bowl. Just not ready to give up NE yet. It will come down to whether Indy can get home field.

All about the players, remember Hos? :)

Seriously, he's probably just now getting the players that really fit his system that can also fit under the cap. For the last few years, they've focused on making sure Manning had his toys. Guess Dungy is finally getting a chance to buy some for himself.

I thought they were broke. Don;t they have like 50 cents of available cap space?

I heard his agent today on NFL radio. Says the Eagles played Dirty pool by letting him go so late but was SURE he would get the 10 mil they wanted. He said his demands were 1) best salary 1a) superbowl contender I hope he turns out to be another Hugh Douglas who flops without the system and rotation to keep him fresh

Beaten down with my own agenda.

You are correct of course.

If Corey can stay healthy on turf, then it will definitely help the Colts.

Good point, jt! They've got all their money tied up in Manning. Price they pay for that offense. :D

It's final. He's a Colt.

Good for Indy. Maybe he can help get them over the New England hump.

Bonus is keeping him out of the NFC and NFC East.

Id love it for Indy. 2nd fav. team in the NFL, i go to watch about 4-5 of there home games a year.

Yep and it is because you made such a good point. Players do make the schemes.

Dungy has a good scheme, but he has been given limited picks for defense and he hasn't made the most of them. Indy nailed it on Freeney, but that is about it. And even Dwight has a weekness in that he is not strong against the run.

Simon will be a very good pick up for them. I wonder who they will have to cut to fit him onto the team. Maybe no one right now, but come this off season someone will be gone. Edge?

Letemburn:
You in Indy too?

I keep a close eye on the local team too and JT is right...Most of their "jack" ($$$) is on the offensive side...

Simon will help, but its not enough, unless they get home field...

Dungy just hasn't had the luxury of a Derrick Brooks clone or another Ronde Barber clone... his defense was full of stars in TB, he's just been working with high first and second round picks trying to find the best solution... He's already got Freeney and adding Corey Simon would do magic for his DL rotation... Go Colts!

I have liked some of his D draft picks and thought they'd turn out better than they have. Freeney seems to be the lone guy who has grasped Dungy's schemes and thrived.
