Yes...once they get to the regular competition part of the show I quit watching.

The best is the early stuff.

Beyond that, chances are I would not listen to any of the finalists so why bother.

You know what really gets me about this show? The number of times the judges declare someone to be an "exceptional talent" or some other superflous ****.

Ok, so I'm assuming that there aren't many opera fans here, this being a football forum. But just trust me, you could go to the Metropolitan Opera here in NYC on any particular night and hear people sing who have twice as much talent and have been training their voices for hours a day, 7 days a week for YEARS.

I guess my point is this. Any one of these singers at the Met could be an "American Idol" if only they had what REALLY sells records and wins American Idol-- "attitude", looks, and wilingness to sign an unfair contract with a huge music label.

k, rant over.

Simon, Paula, and the other guy who doesn't add anything to the show are really mean to some people. People that don't deserve it. I saw one really sweet girl on there (must have been 16) get made fun of to where she eventually just walked out.
