Rothlisburger has not performed well against pressure defenses this year with the exception of Baltimore earlier in the season.

Philly really got after him for like 9 sacks. He was 2-13 on 3rd down conversions and 0 TD's.

The Giants got after him for 5 sacks.

Cleveland never came close to Romo and Dallas rolled them, but they sacked Big Ben twice the following week and held him to 10 points.

In several of these games Ben has been held to under 200 yds passing.

Maybe the biggest difference is BIg Ben has been sacked 33 times!

The teams they beat are a combined 40-55.

Romo has been sacked 8 times all year. All the media wants to talk about is the Cowboys O against the Steelers D. But not much is said about the Steelers O against the Cowboys D.

All the Steelers offensive numbers are in the bottom 3rd of the league. Shut down the run and Pittsburgh is in real trouble in this game.

So much for the hype. The Cowboys D will be the difference. beleedit.

I have been thinking the same thing (no mention of our pass rush). Even though our defense will make a difference in this game, the match up is about our offense against their defense because they are each teams best unit.

They're still dangerous. Ben can throw up a game. He won't if we get after him. This game will be won in the trenches. Romo stays up we probably win as long as we don't hurt ourselves. We need to pressure Ben. They need to really get to Romo.

Always struck me as a bit of a meathead; a Ryan Leaf type who didn't flame out. They'd be 10-2 if he didn't throw two killer picks on his own end of the field vs Indy.

Guys Mark my words

Steelers are going to come out passing

TE's

WARD and RB's

passing is what they will do

this season they are 24th in the NFL in rushing...

you are getting this wrong... thinking back to what the steelers old image from past season has been

its not the run... this season

they are effective in the short passing game and moving the chains...

we play soft coverage it's going to be a problem if they dont chuck these guys at the line

Switz is dead on here guys. They know how to play in that toilet bowl of a field. Ward, Ben,their TE's, etc.. almost run differently. You gotta be a Mudder to play in that garbage and run almost flat footed: not on your toes like fast guys do. A guy like Felix: yes I miss him, but he'd be slipping on his fanny all game long. Same with TO: don't expect him to be a factor. Witten, MBTHRee, Bennett, Crayton and maybe Choice have a chance to do something in this game: speed guys will disappear this week. But back to Swifts point: that short, controlled passing game is very effective in the slop: especially against our soft zones. Wade will have to tighten things up and press if they do that.

The more Big Ben passes the worse they are as an offense though, that's the irony.

If the Steelers score more then 14 points it's becuse Our offense must of done something real bad. They have a Horrid Offense we should win this game.

I think this game, more than most, is going to be won by the team that wins the turnover/penalties battle. The Boys can get the Steelers O-line back on their heels and force them to make critical mistakes if they play up to their capabilities and keep Ben on his back or running for his life.

By my calculations Ben is 27th in % of negative plays (Incompletions+INTs+Sacks+Fumbles /Attempts) = 54.8% of his pass plays end up on the negative side.

That means that nearly 55% of the time he goes back to pass something not goods happens. Anytime that number is higher than 50% it is a bad thing.

By comparison, Romo is 7th in the league right now at 43.7% which is very good.
