Simplifying Parsons

39 snaps last week. Out of 70 ish. This week will be 50+ if he can stay fresh. If our Offense can keep them off the field then it could be a big performance. Just watch the cheap shots, it’s the egirls and the will watch film on him.
55% last week
I think it depends on how many snaps at DE
He’s not gonna 50 snaps at DE
That would be a lot of snaps against a 300 on tackle
Hopefully there are less Eagles snaps to play than the chargers got. It would be nice if 50 snaps is all the Eagles have then he might get 50 since he’d get lots of rest in between 3 and outs

I really think the place you want to use him the least is in coverage. I think he can be a good coverage backer but that’s not what makes him dynamic. It’s the speed, the power, the motor. Line him up anywhere. Coming forward or operating in space is where he looks special.

I put him at SAM on first downs and anything less than 5 yards on second. Anything longer than 5 on second down he's rushing the passer from the end spot. On third down its anything longer than 2-3 yards he's a DE. Anything inside 2 yards on third down he's back at SAM. I want to see this guy stay on the field except for when he wants to come off for a breather.
SAM huh? How often are they in "standard" 4-3 alignment

Yes, this is the key. I don't want a set plan because defenses will figure that out.

Micah's your Joker in the deck. You can use him anywhere. Normally that would be way too much for a rookie to handle but this dude's not normal. Let him be great.

Can you imagine the fear of interior DLmen if he threatens to rush from the middle knowing they also have to worry about DTs .......lol
Quinn could have every damn player on offense looking to see where #11 lines up......lol

I love the fact that he never wants to come off the field. When he was talking to LVE on HK’s about not coming off the field and LVE said, “you just have to do your job/you can’t make every play” I was like run away now! Don’t listen to him.

THE JOKER, could be a nick name, and your right on how he should be used.

Exactly my point…..but since they moved him to de when they have 3 lbers out there he’s off on the sidelines. I’d rather have him in there at sam with free rein

  • The Cowboys have rarely played with a 3rd LB (SAM) this season.
  • They've played Nickel or big Nickel with Kearse as the Nickel DB.
  • They did play both a 4-3 and 3-4 in the preseason, but rarely against the 2 QBs they've faced in the regular season.
They want Parsons to play part time because that gives the coaches the opportunity to "coach him up" when he is off the field.

Parsons is like a prized stallion at the starting gate of big race and the rider having issues keeping him still before the gate comes up,. however the coaches are the gate and Parsons needs to be brought into the nfl that way they are doing it, its a marathon not sprint..

hey are doing it the right way all PS and so far increasing his snaps accordingly..17 game season is long one and MP just wants to spring every paly..he wil get more and more snaps and by the last 5 games be on the field so much he will want to tap out..LOL
no need to hit the rookie wall too early they will keep that wall from happening.

Troy Polamalu of linebackers.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I may be in the minority, but I think that Polamalu was overrated. If he didn't have the wild hair, he wouldn't have stood out nearly as much.

I meant more along the lines of you have 10 guys doing a job and Polamalu just running around causing havoc.

I bet that's what they do.
Hope so
Not having Armstrong will make that a bit harder
Once we get all the DE back it should be on every pass play
Creating confusion opens up opportunities not just for parsons but everyone in the pass rush

Simplify: MLB on 1st n 2nd down or obvious potential run down n distance.

Edge rush on obvious pass situations or spy Hurts from MLB.

Either way, hopefully #11 is playing more MLB and DQ picks his spots to rush vs weakest link on OL.

Troy Polamalu of linebackers.
I agree with that comparison, but I am hoping for something beyond Troy. I am not willing to jinx him by saying it out loud.and feel he has not stepped off that path after two games. Feeling some of you nodding your heads out there.

Understood but you can coach him up the entire time the offense is out there. The guys a baller and needs to be out there as much as possible.
