While he certainly hasn't rid himself of the gunslinger label, if you notice his play since 2009, he has really changed and evolved his style of play.

In 2008 he tried to be the prototypical stand straight in the pocket passer, and he got killed doing it.

He has mixed in elements of his 2006-2007 play with his more mature management in 2009. Even in 2010 he was playing really good football.

In 2010, there was only 1 game where romo had a less than 89 QB rating.

Any game we play, I'm confident that Romo will put us in position to win. It's a shame he doesn't have his receivers to help him.

will have the receivers if they can stay healthy--and we need to work our RBs into the passing game even more

I agree, we looked so good with screens in the preseason. Not sure what happened.

All I've seen is some hitches and some dump off passes from running backs. I would like to see some screens with some good blocking designed for bigger gains.

Felix gets a couple blocks and catches the defense off guard, he can take it to the house.

The good thing is, Felix seems to be warming up a bit. This would be a perfect game for him to show some of that 2009 form when he was juking people out of their socks. Maybe we should try to get him and Murray outside. And like you said, we need to go back to running screen plays. How many have we even attempted in the regular season?

No, he didn't. He tried to make a minor adjustment to avoid unconsciously drifting around in the pocket. Drifting around the pocket would change the angles of the pass rush putting more pressure on his offensive line and running backs in pass protection and would lead to more sacks. That is not the same as becoming a prototypical stand straight pocket passer. He would still move when necessary, but he wanted to minimize moving when it wasn't necessary.
