Players almost always get paid based on what they've done vs what they will do. Lawrence cashed in after back to back double digit sack seasons. He obviously hasn't lived up to his contract as a premier pass rusher, but there's a ton he does extremly well on defense. Even though he's overpaid in the grand scheme of things, I would still say he's underappreciated as we primarily measure des based on how many sacks they provide.

Great, but I would prefer if one of our tackles was our best Run Defender and our Edge Defenders were both at the top of the pass rushing charts. That's what is needed going forward
