Since Broncos released QB Tom Brandstater, should cowboys look at him?

I didnt see this anywhere, but with the broncos releasing QB Brandaster, should the cowboys look at him. The Cowboys actually liked him during the draft, but as most of you know, the cowboys selected stephen mcgee.

I think were ok with nicholls on the team as a sleeper qb, i really like him too.

Just take alittle more time for McGee to get into rhythm and flow of the game.

but what do you think about tom brandaster?

If we did, we'd be five deep at the position. But, my answer is no.

Romo
Kitna
McGee
Nichols
Brandstater

By signing him, we're saying that Kitna isn't even a viable short-term option and McGee didn't have a chance to begin with. Not to mention that Nichols probably won't even have a chance at making the PS if other players snatch up the spots.

I think we'll be okay with what we have and McGee needs a legitimate opportunity so I'd say probably not..

Dude you ask and post this same question with every player who's released. C'mon man!!!!! Why do we need to look at him? Really though!!

I think Brandstater has the chance to become a legit starter in the league, wasn't a few months ago people talking that he may take the job from Orton?

I agree. It's annoying. But cue the "don't open the thread then" people.

Never heard of him.

I'd say we are plenty deep at QB right now. There ain't enough time in camp for him to even touch a football.

This is probably Kitna's last year here. If McGee doesn't show something in camp or preseason this year, the Cowboys will be in the market for two QBs next year. Even so, I don't think there would be any room for him on the practice squad this year.

I really liked him when he came out. Put him in a few mock drafts for us. I liked his potential. He's quite an athlete with a good arm.

But we drafted that type of player, and arguably a better athlete with a better arm in McGee. So there's just no interest on my part anymore.

... and they selected McGee two full rounds ahead of Brandstater. If not for the Broncos, Brandstater may have gone undrafted. Now, a transplanted quarterback (Brady Quinn) plus a surprise first-rounder (Tim Tebow) have knocked him completely off Denver's depth chart.

Maybe he's not good enough to join any team with an established starter (Tony Romo), a veteran backup (Jon Kitna) and a future prospect (McGee). Perhaps a team like the Cowboys aren't willing to possibly sacrifice their current quarterback prospect for another team's reject..?

I know Mcgee was so bad, I distinctly remember him because of it. One thing I will say for him though is that he is/was tough. They ran option left, option left, option right, punt over and over his junior(?) season @ A&M and they were putting huge hits on the kid. :laugh2:
When Dallas drafted him I was stunned.

Mr. Mary Land, iffin you don't like these questions and their frequency, why do you even bother to step in and vent your whiney laments?

I think McGee and this bronco castoff both stink.

But the problem is Zoners like yew who always have to pop in and denigrate a post or thread. Don't like it? Done stop by, genius.

Hey, I hear Joe Montana is available. According to his shoe commercial, he's in the best shape of his life.

Anything you can do in order to continue your conspiracy campaign against Romo, cj?

First it's golf, now Brandstater is the man.

When will it stop, joe?
